Had a ride from Grove Hill to Marlowes earlier and I thought it was a pretty decent bus.
Didn't get a chance to experience it in the other direction to see what its' hill climbing abilities are.
Don't know if they've fitted wifi to the buses it wasn't switched on if they have.
These buses seem quite odd for a long premium route like the 300 (or 302), given the generic interior and small size. I feel as if overcrowding is inevitable if these are used on Hemel's longer routes - hopefully I'm wrong.
What are they replacing?
12m Volvo B7RLEs and Enviro300s, which should stay on Stevenage operated duties, with Hemel duties apparently converting to Streetlites.

I've heard Arriva North West have vehicles on order, but I don't know what type or how many.

There is a total of 28 streetlites due at Hemel Hempstead, I’m guessing to replace most of the signal deck stock. The ex tower transit buses were brought for new route 357, however proved too small and ended up on Hemel locals.

I am wondering if there are 28 Streetlites due for Hemel are they possibly a mix of lengths and the ones we have seen so far are short ones for local services rather than for the 300/2.

I am also wondering will this cascade some of the Volvo B7's on to the 500 and replace some of the older double deckers?

yes there are 28 streetlites due for hemel, just read through this months issue of buses magazine and it confirms it. it also mentions 13 new streetdecks for route 101 in sapphire spec which will be based at gillingham. 18 streetdecks are also due for delivery August/september for arriva yorkshire, branded for route 110.

So far Enviro 400 hydrogen for the Liverpool - St Helens service. Unsure on numbers but i expexct similar number as the number of buses are required for that route

They're not due until next year, and I understand most (if not all) of them are for Stagecoach.

They are meant 1/2 and 1/2 aren't they for the 10As. They are specifically for use on the 10As and Stagecoach only have 13 boards on the 10As. 26 boards are about right for both companies.

Unless it's changed recently, Stagecoach's PVR for the 10A is 16.

I do apologize, it is 16. I do still believe it is 1/2 and 1/2 though Stagecoach Gillmoss and Arriva St Helens as they are for the 10A. Stagecoach don't have 25 buses reserved for the 10A so they won't want 9 extra buses.

All articles state that they are for Arriva and Stagecoach

Why would Arriva and Stagecoach both comment and why would all articles state it is in conjunction with Arriva and Stagecoach if only one operator was getting them.

Fair enough, obviously what I was told about their planned allocation was incorrect.

However, unless Arriva's PVR for the 10A has changed, I'm not sure eight vehicles (assuming Stagecoach will be allocated 17 to include a spare) will be enough.

Hence why I believe it will be 1/2 and 1/2 so then a few buses are non hybrid but both operators have hybrid vehicles on the 10As.

I know Stagecoach don't but Arriva might have peak extras or 'inspection buses' which go back at 9am for PM inspection or come out at 2pm from a morning inspection. If they do, then inspection buses or peak extras could just be normal vehicles.

If I am wrong, fair enough but Arriva will be getting some of these buses or they wouldn't have been mentioned in any of the articles. There must be some confirmation somewhere on who is getting what.

I'll see if I can find out, although as they're due for a different depot to the one I'm based at, I don't know if I'll have any luck.

I thought the 110 were due E400 MMCs??

Anyone have a clue on here, on how the Sapphire specced Streetdecks are like? Thank you.

The first two have arrived (1576/7).

Anyone know if anything has been offered for either of Leicester’s depots, Thurmaston and Wigston?

Thurmaston has the 06 reg DB250’s which will need to be replaced, along with about 15 Solo’s, and 4 Wright Commanders.

Wigston has the 51/06 reg B7TLs and a few 52 reg darts.

These buses aren’t that old, but thanks to Leicester’s upcoming LEZ, they’ll need to go.

I think the DB250s and 06-reg Volvos have been modified to meet the LEZ.
Anything like the remaining Darts, Commanders etc will go, or be left to run routes that don't enter the LEZ.

Arriva Yorkshire Streetdecks now in service. Not been on one yet, but just hoping they hold up well on the intensive 110. The Enviro 400s have served it well.

A couple are in service, not the whole batch
