Does anyone know if EMT or CrossCountry do HST labels as well, and if so if they have any pictures of them. Thanks.
EMT stopped doing labels within a timetable or 2 of getting the franchise off Midland mainline
X Country only ever done a summer few in early period for newquay and rtn

Of the 2 X Country are the rearer of the set
EMT are certainly not common but have been seen on ebat

EMT have done some in the past, they were rectangular and not many were about. Cross Country only did some for a year during the Summer services (ie Newquay to Manchester)

I did order the Newquay Pride 2018 label from GWR. I was a bit annoyed that at over £18 with postage, the label was only sent in a folded over Jiffy bag and not in a tube or something sturdier. As a result, it had got quite creased up in the post

Incidentally, the Flying Banana and other two labels that were on ebay for £200 a couple of months ago and have been relisted multiple times are now down to £100 and are still not selling. What a surprise...

Just one more question - do the Mark 3A-operated services (Chiltern, TfW and Greater Anglia) have window labels?

Chiltern briefly used labels when the Mk3 stock was introduced. They certainly don't now. As far as I'm aware, Greater Anglia or their predecessor have never used labels.

As far is I know, TfW have not used any. Would be nice though. Arriva did do some for services out of Birmingham New Street to Aberystwyth, Pwllheli, Barmouth and Bristol to Waterloo services

Bang on for what class43165 said
Although not sure Bristol to Waterloo services haven't seen labels after Network South East days

Interesting - does that make the 37s in Anglia and the 68s on Chiltern the only services to have no form of destination display on board the train in the country?

Yes, you are correct but what about the Night Riviera?
I know that the Scotrail HSTs don't have displays but have done a very small amount of labels showing the destination only, no calling points.

I think the Night Riveria has (or did have) window labels.
Interesting about Scotrail though - the most basic form of label!

I would imagine the the Night Riviera does not have them any more as there are no more HSTs. I think that GWR should do some for the Castle sets.

I don't think they do - I've done many an eBay search for "window labels" in the railway category and nothing comes up. A Google search has also produced inconclusive for both EMT and XC. Sorry!

Have you tried searching for "destination labels" instead?

I'm resisting the urge to bid on an 'HST Last Day label' - I did e-mail the GWR Shop a while ago to see if they had any stock of these that they planned to sell but never heard back... The 'Newquay Pride' special label did appear for sale over a year after the event so who knows...?

On the subject of Cross Country, I found a stack of labels that I'd been given by writing off to various stations in around 1996. I'd completely forgotten about named trains on Cross Country. It makes me nostalgic for a Swallow liveried HST or 47! Here's a picture of some of them.IMG_1241.jpg

That's a Fantastic set, you need a Wessex Scot, Midland Scot and a Pines Express for the full house

That's a very good set!
I wonder if GWR would reply to me if I asked about Cotswold HST labels.... :) To Twitter I go!

Well GWR were selling Cathedrals Express labels as part of a bundle of other named trains about six months ago. It was about £16 for 10 or 11 labels. I thought that was pretty good vale considering they're now selling some Newquay labels for £10 each! I managed to nab the Newquay labels on ebay for less than £4!

OK - I'll keep looking out for Cathedrals Express labels. I actually forgot about them until then!

Looking on ebay, there is a Cathedrals Express (London Bound) as part of a bundle of 4 for £15. Bit steep! Got my two in that bundle mentioned for £10 from GWR last year.

£18 as well! Interesting.... :D

-Peter
I must confess that I did pay a little bit more than that for one but the seller did send it carefully rolled up in a tube. My previous experience of the GWR Shop is that they send labels in Jiffy bags and they get creased up in the post. For a premium price, I would expect better packaging...
