Haha, funny how it works out. Strange how the turnaround was so quick since the course isn’t till Feb. I assume the courses are all allocated up until then so they can just send out the conditional offers etc.

Yeah, maybe they've got x amount of slots for Fratton, Oxford ect..

Still, I don't have to be excited at every phone number I don't recognise now haha

Indeed, you can go back to picking up and swearing at whichever sorry excuse for a call centre is trying to say you’ve had an accident that wasn’t your fault. :E

Does anyone know how long the medical lasts for?

Far as I know, having passed a medical and progressed to qualified train driver it's done every 3 years up to 55 years old and then annually.

If your question relates to pre employment medicals I don't know (perhaps someone else does)

How long it lasts for, or how long it takes to complete? Apologies if this is irrelevant but I forget what stage you’re at (having had a medical yet?).

To be honest mate I didn’t really word it right, I did mean how long does it take so nope it’s not irrelevant!

Haha, no worries. It usually takes about an hour. Maybe a little less but they told me it takes about an hour and it was pretty spot on.

Whats the hearing test like? How long does it last and at what point in the medical do you do it?

You what? :E

Sorry. It varies to be honest, they often ask you when you want to do it (they may ask if you want to do the D&A test first depending on how much you need the loo).

The hearing test takes about 10-mins? They will put you in a sound proof booth with headphones on. High and low tones and you click a button when you hear them.

Well done!

Can I ask... did you specifically apply for HEX or was a talent pool for Paddington? The reason I ask is that I appear to be in one for HEX subject to passing my DMI.

Can you remember what the training salary was?

Training salary is £28,267 (more than what was in the contract so I assume there had been a pay award between my interview and the contract being issued?).

Yeah from memory it was initiallly a trainee train driver for Paddington. As my application progressed it changed to HEX.
Nice reading? Mine is 25th also
Yep. Maybe see you there!
