Should be some interesting photos!
Presumably that includes mainly the LO ones (when the 710s come into service as there isn't much space) as well as some ex TfL rail 315s over a longer period?

Given that it talks about TfL Rail 315s being displaced by 710s its certainly of dubious accuracy at best!
TfL Rail as in the TfL sub-department of TfL Surface or TfLRail as in the TOC?

The Design statement is full of really obvious typos, bad English, and just downright wrong information.

Gems like:

'Temporary Storage of Block Train Cars'
'At 10-14 day intervals new rail cars are to be delivered'

'The proposal is to resurrect the storage of 45 rails cars which has again become a need for CF Booth Ltd'

'Deliverioes to site on 10'

'around 4.366m high'

Given the slow progress to get Aventras into use so far its seems unlikely 315's will turn up at the rates predicted

Proofreading seems to be a lost art, reading any news or sports stories on the BBC website will show this.

(No doubt someone will point out any typographical errors I've made in this post, of course!)

The unit I'm traveling on at the moment (836) feels like the body is going to detach from the bogies underneath. Really a bit alarming! Leans from side to side a lot more than you'd expect with a loud rumbling noise from underneath you can feel as much as hear. I feel this one probably hasn't got much longer left to live...

I have seen 28 of the 31 allocated units for the Overground Liverpool St services in the month of August. Those missing were;
315805 - Last seen 4/5/19
317708 - Last seen 12/7/19
317892 - Last seen 12/7/19
Depending how many times I use my local station, Southbury, I usually see between 26 & 28 different units each month.
It does not look like 315805 is going to be back, unless anyone knows better. Perhaps they will sub it with another Shenfield 315, similar to 315858.

Was down in London a few weeks ago, and noted both 317708 and 317892 in traffic.

Went to Ilford today and had the joy of 818 on a Shenfield , they really are in first class condition for cleanliness. Saw around 5 units working the peak. Excellent to have nailed my last run one.

40 years of sterling work.

Indeed, the 315s are brilliant workhorses and the team at Ilford do a cracking job looking after them.

They are to be commended for that - in passing - not a fleet that suffered too much from vandalism , and always seemed well cared for.

If you want to look at a fleet that has been let go - consider the 313's on the GN. Very poor cleanliness in recent years and especially now. They were so clean in their early days , that frequent washing without detergent was the norm.

The 313s wouldn't look nearly as bad if the livery wasn't basically down to the bare metal on most of them.

Are the scrap runs for 315’s the same as 313’s, sims and booths?

Some 315s have gone to Booths and others to EMR at Kingsbury some went direct from Ilford others ran to Wolverton works first

According to the UKModernEMU group 4 315s (825/831/842 and 859) are scheduled off lease and will run to Wolverton under their own power tonight and tomorrow night

That is not a surprise as the 4 7-car class 345s from western have now moved east with only later 7 or 9-car class 345s operating in the west now.

I just see this reply - I missed them! Is there more due, also.. why are they going to Wolverton?

I work close by, I would love to see these.

Neither seem to have run anyway. Worth keeping an eye on ilford to Wolverton moves on realtime trains chances are itll be 315s

are you aware if many more are coming, one morning around 2/3am a couple of months ago I do recollect seeing a white train with red doors being pulled by a 37, I wasn't to clued up with the scrap moves then and couldn't get a close enough eye on it to see what it was.

I will start checking often, thanks

Does anyone know if 315850 has actually now been scrapped or not as I haven't been paying much attention.

Thanks,
Nat

Does wolverton have a good vantage point to get photos of the 315's?
