There was a loco swap at Longsight last Wednesday with either TP04 or TP06 so 68028 could be with one of those 2sets.

Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but, does anyone know which carriages make up the rakes, as in TP 01 - 13?

I saw 68028 and a set at Longsight on Friday. No idea of which set as I take no notice of such things.

TP13 11513 12737 12738 12739 12813
Spare 12814

I haven't seen anything to confirm this but this is how I understood it to be too. Set can be identified by either the first class coach next to the loco (115XX) or the driving trailer at the other end (128XX). The intermediate TS coaches are numbered 701 to 739, you could work out which set you are in based on this number as well but it requires a bit more maths!

They are pretty much fixed formation like units aren't they (intermediate bar couplings?) so I expect they should remain fairly constant - indeed hasn't it been written that the 68 on each set won't change that often either?
As I understand it, there’s no intention to switch the DT or coaches, very much a fixed formation. Locos I believe will switch.

It was posted a while back so unfortunately I don't have a source to hand, but the intention was I believe to cycle the spare DT in and out of sets periodically.

It was also suggested that locos will stay with sets for the most part barring any major failures.

Coach B
Divide the last two digits by 3 gives the set number.

Coach C
Add one to the last two digits then divide by three.

Coach D
Add two to the last two digits then divide by three.

Or just memorise them;)

A short trip on TP12 this evening with 68030 revealed a couple of faults, mostly with the PIS announcements being incomplete "we are now arriving at <blank>...." etc. But overall very nice, great to see steady progress being made after months and months of waiting. I believe TP06 should make an appearance soon, possibly with 68028.

Is it 3 or 4 sets in store at Longmoor?

Some disruption today.
1F60 cancelled west of Victoria, nearly an hour late.
Seems to be turning at Eccles loop.
Not clear why it picked up the delay at Scarborough.

And the return trip to York?
A please or thank you wouldn’t have gone amiss there...;)

Ive linked the full diagram below. The return to York ran very early one day last week with 0A93 just continuing on to York, so worth double checking.

I was on York station today killing an hour of time. There were 5 class 68s in the station at the same time.
One was blocked in platform 2 by a 144 Pacer and two in the sidings by the ROC. The 14:57 to Scarborough was diverted into platform 4 instead of platform 5 propelled by a 68 because platform 5 was occupied by 2x68s top and tailing on a southbound single nuclear flask.
Sorry, I haven't any numbers as I gave up spotting in 1962. I just enjoy watching.
One slightly off-topic point, the station announcer announced that the xx TPE service to ? has been terminated at Leeds for.……………….long pause...………….ticketing issues, whatever that means.
Trains from the north were running over an hour late due to a fatality in the Durham area.

I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but Nova 3 seating plans are now up on TPE's website, alongside the 350's and 185's:

https://www.tpexpress.co.uk/travelling-with-us/onboard-facilities/seating-plan

No sign of Nova 1/802 plans yet despite them kind of being in service...
I think it's just down to that there's only been one 802 service so far (and I'm really not sure when the next one will be, sometime in the next couple of weeks I reckon) but I'm sure it'll be added once there's at least a string of services on either the 802s or 397s

Saw my first Nova 3 yesterday, as it was running along from Liverpool into Manchester heading to Scarborough. I was walking over the line and the M602 in Salford aroundf 2:30, not sure which service it would have been, but it was propelled by 68030 Black Douglas. Looked very, very, smart and the 68 sounded great (even over the noise of the traffic!)

Happened to be walking through Manchester Piccadilly last night with one of these in platform 1 waiting to return to the depot. You could hear it faintly on the other side of the concourse near the toilets. I wouldn't describe myself as a huge train nerd but fantastic sound. The whole train shed was booming as it set off.

Another planet...
The 1400 departure from Huddersfield was a few minutes late in, and then had a fair old dwell time in the platform (I was on the Castleford Scud in platform 5) in part due to very few people moving down towards the front 2.5 cars until platform staff asked them to. Hopefully once longer trains become commonplace people will wise up and move down to the ends, weather permitting.

Black Douglas sounded in fine form on the rear.

I could hear it on the Pendo I'd just pulled in on. I raced to the overbridge and just about filmed it's departure from the high vantage point as it left. Sounded great inside the cavernous Piccadilly.

Genuinely overheard a man complaining to TPE staff about the new trains because they don't stop just under the roof at Hudds on Monday. Some people!

Here’s new kid on the block 68028 crossing a flooded river Ouse at York with 1E23. Loco on the ‘Liverpool’ end. D8715B0F-C34F-41D0-9577-14229E81D393.jpeg
