All those listed as ‘Citybus’ are actually Olympians, other than G614OTV - which is the only actual Citybus!
G614OTV was providing a heritage running day on service 462 yesterday. I assume it's been certified as a coach to get around the DDA requirements however I cant see it lasting very long under Stagecoach ownership!

How often does it operate the 462? Was it under the 20 day dispensation or is it a regular thing?
I don't really see it very often, when I do it's about 50% coach and 50% yellow decker and there are numerous journeys of course. I'd assume they'd struggle to keep all the deckers under the 20 day rule.

No. Probably the 462 will become either a more modern decker or an Enviro200 which may result in better matching of resources to demand. How busy is the 462?

I believe (although I don't know for sure) all the 462s are back workings off school runs/Aviva 101 journeys? So it is the capacity needed for those which dictates what is used.

The Steve Knight site has been updated today with the press release for he takeover, plus a list of what's being transfered:

Caetano Levante: BN64FKP/R/S/T/U/V/W, T100/200SGB
Scania/Van Hool: T37CNN, L300/555/600/777/800SGB
Volvo Citybus: N305/306/307/308CLV, N271/77CKB, L562/64YCU, G614OTV, S828OFT
Mercedes-Benz minibus: Y347VKH, Y196GBO, S856JSR

I wonder if any of these will actually run for Stagecoach in the near future or end up like the Wessex vehicles variously disposed of or being stored for months whilst they're rebuilt. I cant imagine the Stagecoach engineer looking forward to dealing with the Citybuses! Unfortunately little chance of them being substituted onto the Severn Express!
Have SGBC still got that Pointer/Dart (YXI 235)? Back in May it was being used on a staff shuttle for LV= at Aztec West.

TrawsCymru is run by the Welsh government and they tend to avoid duplicating rail services. As most of the routes already require subsidy it's unlikely that joining them together is going to make things any better (even if the councils would be quite happy with the reduced costs).
Ok the how
about x23 and x63 run by stagecoach west
X23 Gloucester-Lydney-Chepatow-Newport-Cardiff 2 hourly
X63 Gloucester-Newent-Ross-Monmouth-Raglan-Newport-Cardiff
2 hourly
To replace bus services along the routes
Also some people have said expanded bus services like
71 Gloucester-Tewkesbury- Beckford-Evesham every 1 to 2 hours
40 Cheltenham-Tewkesbury- upton-on-7-Worcester every 2
Hours run by Stagecoach west.
What do people think a good idea or what.

Now confirmed by Stagecoach that the RTC at Totnes is the reason behind the cancellation of the open day on 6th October:
https://www.stagecoachbus.com/servi...rticle?SituationId=ID-05/10/2019-15:46:52:852

Matford Open Day Cancelled 05 Oct 2019 to 07 Oct 2019
In the light of the incident near Totnes on Saturday involving a Stagecoach bus we have postponed the Fun Day planned for Exeter depot on Sunday October 6. We are working hard to let everyone know to avoid unnecessary journeys

How have you come up with these ideas? Who are these "some people"? You travelled on these routes?

Traveline are showing the Stagecoach timetables for the ex South Glos routes starting on the 19th October.
So next week may be the last chance for Olympians/Citybus travel in Bristol!

I'm guessing the step-entrance vehicles were short-notice vehicles when Stagecoach took over some routes in Bristol? I believe, however, that step-entrance vehicles can be used in normal service I presume up to 15-20 times a year?

These vehicles are owned and regular service vehicles by south Gloucester bus and coach who stagecoach are in the process of buying, with the sale expected to complete in the next week or so

There is a recent new Okehampton outstation - think it’s one vehicle

Cullompton closed when the new Tiverton outstation opened; that one is opposite the Tesco filling station. Tavi is still at the compound near the rugby club?

Just out of curiosity, what's happening to the Stagecoach Devon Gold Scania E400 that was involved in the accident last Saturday? How likely is it that it's a write off?

It's a good job Stagecoach Oxford have some surplus ones soon - although there are plenty of Gold buses around at other Stagecoach depots I guess.

Yes, I would imagine it is a write off.

Oxford does not have any spare ones. All the Witney ones have been transferred elsewhere. Some have been repainted into corporate colours.

Witney's have not been transferred yet, except for one to the East Midlands... I don't think any of the new ones have even arrived yet (although I'd be happy to be corrected). I think that 11 more are due to transfer to East Midlands (the remainder of 15609-15620 to join 15612 I'd assume). Potentially 1 or both of 15933/34 could transfer south as they are the same age (and even the same batch, just split?).

Split, yes - 15933 and 15934 (part of the Devon order) were spare from the 2013/2014 order so Stagecoach Oxford got them which are very useful.

Given they were running a Gold bus on the 9 on Thursday, I assume they have enough to cover.
