The B10BLEs are suppose to be staying an little longer. I am sure these have come to help replace the B7Ls that were withdrawn. an few ... B7RLES will be leaving next year when the next batch of vehicles arrive.

They should all be done now.
As they say 'There is always one'. 61653 has managed to avoid (evade?) the update and still has the scrolling version.
Also in use at Dumbarton since the middle of last week is 66735

240 is shared between Overtown and Blantyre. At night you’ll find 240 buses on the 255,263 and 267 as some of them are run off 240 boards. Sundays all 240s are run from Blantyre.

I always get confused by this , can drivers do routes at either depot ?

Does Glasgow really need more B7RLEs? Aren’t we trying to get rid of the Euro 3 stock... I presume they’re trying to oust more of the B10BLEs?

Also are the service changes with Aberdeen the reason for their redundant stock being able to come down to Glasgow?

PS the B7RLEs looked great when new. They were such great buses but very tired now sadly.

They were pretty modern back in 06 , i think the 18 and 20 route had them initially . They are not as sharp as they were .

Aberdeens "stolen" B7RLEs 69110 and 69122 have transferred to Glasgow. I'm sure this will please the local "veg" as it means the gap between 69109 and 69111 is finally filled!

69110/122 were part of a group of 4 B7RLEs (69110/122/123/124) originally intended for Glasgow, however they were diverted on delivery to Aberdeen in order to allow for the Service 5 to be relaunched on a doubled frequency as the "Lime Green Line" in time for the new Uni Term in Summer 2006. All 4 were actually delivered to Glasgow with local SF06 plates (see below), however were transferred quite swiftly re-registered with Aberdeen plates (SV06) prior to entering service.

Flickr user Prisma Aberdeen has uploaded a rare set of photos that show 69110 and 69122 at Aberdeen not longer after delivery still carrying their original Glasgow registration plates.

The original Glasgow plates were as follows.
69110: SF06GZW > SV06GRF
69122: SF06HBD > SV06GRK
69123: SF06HBE > SV06GRU
69124: SF05HBG > SV06GRX

Of course Glasgow later that same year (2006) received 66988-91, the vehicles originally intended for Aberdeen.

What depot have they gone to?

Still B7RLES very much on frontline services , 7 , 6 ,9 for example.

61 branded b9tls were on the 2 , 5 (seen two of them ) and had one on the 31 as a treat.

Anyone think some services need more recovery time at each end? I know it's not ideal but reliability improvements could definitely bring more customers and it's one of the biggest problems around.

The 20:10 1C at Anniesland Road to Drumchapel came with the 20:40 one for example. Obviously delays were going to happen tonight with the fireworks display but it's regular for a lot of buses to even be off putting due to poor reliability most of the day

Was on the 18 on Saturday , our 18 caught up with the one in front by Bridgeton.

The only way really to implement buses being regulated is to adopt a similar system like Blackpool.

In Blackpool, the buses have to wait until their departure hour at certain stops, so it keeps the buses regulated, if they don't wait the driver gets fined.

Would something like that be practical in Glasgow, or would it cause too much congestion?

You are not allowed to wait at timing points within Glasgow city centre due to TRC rules.

Sure they have this in Edinburgh, when I lived there the bus would often stop and wait if it was running early, always before they hit the city centre.

Something definitely needs to change anyway.

I don't think it's quite as simple as just banning cars from the city centre. Think it'll take a lot more like retiming buses, bus lanes being properly enforced and slightly lower prices to get people going back onto buses. It's certainly on a worrying downtrend in Glasgow anyway.

Here's a pic of a common thing that happens with the 1Cs.

Due at 17:16, 17:34 and 17:50

Here's another screenshot now too:

I'd suspect that the vehicles saved will just be used to help the fleet / allow for Euro 6 refits, effectively float vehicles.
Ah, that explains everything. I also didn't realise that only a small number of buses were removed from the peak vehicle requirement. I was expecting well into double figures however the reinstatement of the X1 also put paid to that.
