I wouldn’t get excited by the “Beef in Yorkshire Pudding”.

I’m regretting not picking up those Aunt Bessie’s shares tbh....

You know the thing that always sticks out to me is that LNER's presentation keeps letting them down with their hot food. The breakfast always looks good but everything else always looks dreadful. But, despite the appearance, nearly every item I've ever had from the menu has been tasty and hit the spot! But to look at them? They often just look like random gloop...

The meal presented above looks somewhat akin to a school dinner in my view - both in terms of presentation and quantity.

Perhaps it's time they introduced a "Go Large" option !!

To be honest as long as the Scotch keeps flowing I don't mind getting a happy meal to accompany it.

The more disappointing thing was the lack of any hot drinks service throughout the journey, or my 'Chef Signature Menu' truffle!

I feel like LNER of late have given up on making first class a proper experience and it’s just pot luck on what kind of service you get from rations to hot drinks / toast and full menu choice

The prices have increased aswell which has put me off travelling with them as much as I used to

Currently on a LNER in Standard, Aberdeen to Edinburgh, and it’s perfectly okay. Probably saved about £50. I am going off Ist Class as a concept recently. Would rather have more trips!

And what appears to be half a slice of toast !!!

Even when served after the main meal, you only got a half slice.
A cynic might think the toast is now placed on the plate first (seems to be what always happens now) so the stinginess can be concealed.
Not wishing to stir up the East Coast / West Coast rivalry but I had three slices of toast after my latest VWC breakfast.

If true that is ridiculous - I got 2 slices on both of my trips in September on LNER.

Have there been any cases of cows hit on the line this week?...
