Thank you @Supertrains19 @ProteanReptile @Train Boy @TM Hopeful @MickeyClass37 and @Emmsie for all your advice and good wishes....

They worked! I passed Stage 2 on Friday and received my conditional offer of employment today!

I'm chuffed to bits and excited/nervous to start my new adventure :)

Cheers all,
Emma x

Yeessssssssssss. Very well done Emma. I bet you had a right dancearound the house when you got the news.
I certainly did.
You have done the hard bit getting in.
So relax and go into training ,with confidence knowing your company wanted you to work for them.
I'm sure you'll be very successful.
Good luck and all the best. Mickey

I've made the final cut twice at Easyjet and twice at BA, offered once at Easyjet which I had to turn down as they have a rule that you can't have booked holiday during training and I had to see my Sons father in the US and been rejected twice at BA, got the OBS role at southern but that was probably the best competence interview ever.

How did your assessment/interview go?

It went OK but got my rejection email today. I despise competency based interviews with a passion and won't be applying again.
No you must apply Emmsie, keep trying and get to that interview even if it’s the same company, it shows you’re committed and you Also got to that stage which is amazing

Well done for passing Emma!

I'm kind of In the same position as you, I applied for the role of Train Manager- Paddington back in July/August. I took the stage one assessment a few weeks ago ( I forgot I even applied) I currently work for a TOC and when I joined I got from applying to in a role within the space of weeks, but I know sometimes the wait can vary. I was thinking of emailing them as I'd seen the job advertise again but hearing your story still gives me faith! I will be patient a little while longer

You must try again, when the chance comes.

I know.

Interviews are always difficult and always have variable outcomes.....
You will be more informed and confident next time.

I had my first day at GWR today and the other two guys who were at Paddington with me both said they started the application process well over a year ago!! So, it can vary MASSIVELY so it would seem!!

thank you I’m so pleased. Nervous as it’s a huge change for me, but excited and looking forward to getting stuck in.
I passed stage 1 in July and still waiting for an invite for stage 2. I Guess you must have scored higher than me? I'm really not sure how this works? Congrats on your offer!

Hi Emma,

1st of all well done, I had an interview about 2 weeks ago. Does any one know if it's normal for them to take a while to respond? Or should I take the silence as a "we aren't interested"

Should I be looking out for an email or waiting for a call?

Any help is appreciated as my excitement is building but don't want to build the hopes up too much.

Just to correct the statement above, the people with this wait time were both trainee DRIVERS and not TMs or guards!
