A new TfL London rail map has been released.

It now includes Brookmans Park with a Contactless symbol by it.

Has this been extended to Hatfield yet.

My Key Card now shows journeys split (so shows as Kings Cross to Hatfield for £8.40 each way) which is less than the previous week where it showed a total for the day at £17.50 so 10p less.

Does it mean anything? lol

I think it should say "Cards/Tickets" rather than "ITSO/Tickets" when the software has been updated.

It is live now (just as Potters Bar was live some time before the official switch on date), so maybe the text is a separate modification to come.

The fares are now available on the single fare finder. No real surprises, but I am a little disappointed that Hatfield is in the same zone as WGC. Fares from most stations in London are cheaper to St Albans City than Hatfield. This is not the case for paper tickets.

I have also uploaded them to http://faremap.ml/ - they are all visible when using Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield or Welham Green as the source.

Fares from WGC have always been the same as Hatfield, which is why I often buy tickets starting from WGC go give myself the extra travel flexibility, whether needed or not.

They weren't the same for the journeys I was taking. For example, travelling one-way on the weekend to Clapham Junction whilst avoiding zone 1 has changed like so:

Welwyn GC: £11.00 -> £6.20
Hatfield: £10.20 -> £6.20
Welham G: £9.00 -> £4.70
St Albans: £13.70 -> £5.80

Certainly in this case Hatfield is the loser. And the fact that it is cheaper to use two contactless cards, switching at Hadley Wood or Brookmans Park and waiting 30 minutes for the next train is pretty dumb. It is cheaper still if you transfer between New Southgate and Arnos Grove, but I appreciate this is due to Sadiq Khan's super-subsidised £1.50 tube fares.

The only split ticketing opportunities that ought to exist in the TfL network are when an 'avoid zone 1' fare is not available due to the route exceeding the minimum journey time.

The Contactless fares aren’t all the same from both WGC and Hatfield - they are certainly different to London Kings Cross and Finsbury Park.
