Do you think enough Class 397's will be in service in time for the Class 350 handover to LNWR

It seems accepted that there will be 185s released by 802s on the Newcastle to Liverpool / Airport workings to cover certain WCML workings for a while.

I think that while LNWR want all of them soon they are only desperate for 3 units. The usual situation of TPE scraping together the minimum number of units required!

I like a good reminder... Is there anything happening today at Liverpool? Besides the 4 diagrams for the 802?
I believe, although do not quote me; this is speaking from what I remember someone posting on here - today a photoshoot of all three Nova types positioned next to each other is supposed to happen.

I believe there were plans for a press/media launch of Nova trains in Liverpool.

No idea if it is still happening. Invite only I heard.

At the seating plans for NOVA 2 available on the TPE website, with a short summary:

https://www.tpexpress.co.uk/travelling-with-us/onboard-facilities/seating-plan

Also on that page:

Until 14 December 2019, train services between Manchester and Scotland will usually be operated by our Class 350 electric trains. Formed of 4 carriages, these trains can occasionally be coupled together providing 8 carriages on our busiest services.

From 15 December 2019, these services will gradually be operated by our new NOVA 2 electric trains which have 5 carriages.

10 tables per coach as per the 90s Mk3 (Edit: actually 12), everything fully aligned in Standard...very much the best of the bunch, and a whack in the face for the naysayers (again).

Apparently we've been told it's impossible to have:
1. Gangways (then came classes 350, Electrostars, 385.....)
2. Big overhead racks (then came Desiros, 800s.....)
And now we have:
3. Full window alignment in Standard.

This just demonstrates that everyone else is just making excuses, which is pretty much always the case for the naysayers.

They do look good, don't they? I can vividly remember how completely underwhelmed I was by the introduction of Class 185s (me on first Cl.185 journey: "Oh, it's full already? and I've got to wear an extra layer because doors in the saloon?"). These make me want to travel by train for train travel's sake.

For the only bit of TPE that is truly InterCity (the rest of it is really a jumped-up regional express no different from the "Northern Connect" routes), they are an excellent fit.

Looks like it will be. Mentioned it during the intro.

Edit: The report mostly featured NOVA 3, and focused mostly about how they should've been in service earlier this year.

Showed more of the Nova 3.
