It will be the 'Item Number' from the Weekly Operating Notice, so Item 13 & Item 18 where specific details of the possessions will be found.

If I'm correct, the public doesn't have access to the weekly notice, so it's a bit meaningless having it displayed.

I think you have misunderstood where the data for the public maps comes from.

This website just "harvests" the open data source. They dont add this info.

Btw The entry isnt there in the source data for the benefit of those watching at home.

On the help pages on the OTT website it gives a brief description of what T3 and a link to a general document. All I was after was for example, if *13* relates to say tampering, or OHLE then these are listed on the same help page. Not after specific detail

You have said it is meaningless to have it displayed (nothing about the help page)...it is not to the people that (with respect) actually matter.

FFS - It's a public website - as is this - not for some clicky clicky secret club.... Like I said, if (and bear in mind not everyone who reads this forum is in the industry) *13* means OHLE work, and "those that *matter*" know what it is then wouldn't it be more helpful (to me at least) to simply replied with an informative reply to confirm or advise what it means. If the code is not generic then just say so.....

Sometimes this forum sucks !

It will have been added as an unofficial aide-memoire for the signal man. The point is it is meaningless to everyone unless you have access to the document it relates to. I don't think there is some code list somewhere as it just relates to item 13 in a particular document or page and , as an aside, this shows one of the drawbacks of open data and public consumption of that data.

I doubt this attitude makes people more willing to help.

Item numbers are just for each piece of work carried out. They are not categoried for the type of work done. Each week it will just go 1, 2, 3, ... so Item 13 could refer to different types of work each week.

Normally the only way to know what each piece of work is is by access to possession reports or the WON.

Thank you both for explaining this in simple terms.

I have not said its some secret club and you have had the correct answer in the first reply. It is you that went off on a tangent saying its meaningless to have it displayed when in fact it is not.

The only person who will know what it means is the person who put the codes there - i.e. the signaller. Other people might be able to figure out or guess what it means. The signaller is free to put text in the berths to aid their memory. You will often see in terminal stations things like 4CAR where the signaller has entered it to remind themselves that there's a 4-car in the platform

RealTrainTimes website cannot tell the difference between information that is meaningless, and information that is not meaningless, so it will display whatever is there. And the information is only meaningless if you don't know what it means. Headcodes will be meaningless to the vast majority of people, but it still displays them.
