I applied for Liverpool and have had an assessment invite, just waiting for a response as to whether my current results can be used rather than having to take them again.

Well done mate. Guess I didn’t get it then haha... always next time, onwards and upwards. Good luck in your assessment day.

They will have offered you the available place based on their own recruitment timescales. If you can't make it or don't want it then they will reallocate the place to someone else. Yes it's not ideal but most of us who have walked this path have had to travel for the tests.

Yeah I emailed them and asked about closer assessment dates but they replied saying they don’t get much advance notice of dates or locations so it’s eother go to Leeds or take a chance of not getting another one, so I’m off to Leeds lol

Take it that’s it now then all the candidates have been informed. Can’t see anyone else getting anything if you’ve not already heard. Well done to all those that made it through to the next stage.

There are supposedly assessment dates in December January and February

Not everyone will get on the 1st date theres only enough room for so many people

The attitude of "oh well that's that everything is a horrible failure" wobt do you well as a train driver

I think it’s natural to think that when other people have heard and it’s such a competitive job to get into! I’m trying to keep positive lol

I applied newcastle. Not heard yet. Ive got 3 applications with different tocs in at the moment so im just sitting tight and hoping one comes off.
I know someone who actually got a rejection from one toc who then emailed him a few months later asking him to come in for an interview and he got the job. Never say never

I've no idea how the process in selecting people to send invites to works, however it could be something as simple as work through applicants they've chosen in alphabetical order, date of application etc when it comes to sending out invites, as mentioned there are limited spaces available for each session so presumably they'll fill these first then not send any more invites until they can confirm dates for the next sessions and then send invites for the next bunch etc.

No email doesn't necessarily mean no invite to follow, so fingers crossed for those still waiting.

Exactly why I’m not letting myself get down over not getting an email back yet. Even if I am unsuccessful, they would email me back to say so... so for me I’m still looking at it as no news is good news rather than bad news.

From what you have said can I ask, have you completed the OPC Visual Search Exercise and the OPC Situational Judgement test more than twice? Just curious as others state you can only sit these assessments twice. Many thanks.

Anyone heard for Newcastle yet?

Hiya Aristo, I applied for Newcastle, I was emailed about 6ish last night inviting me for an assessment next week in Leeds, and as Dunfordbridge mentioned in his last post, it will still be on going until February 2020, maybe they are doing it in groups.

If you haven't got an invite to Leeds for next week the n you're not going to as that date is now full.

There will be additional dates. And possibly in additional places.

If your application status is still saying "submitted" then:

"This means your application is still under review. Due to a very high amount of applications it is taking a long time to process them all"

The part quoted above is from TPE recruitment team email I got earlier whe I queried it

Also from earlier email:

"Thank you for your email.
There may be further dates available for these first stage assessments it will depend on how the first lot of assessments go.

This wave is all in Leeds however, that does not mean there will not be other opportunities in other places if further dates become available."

So calm down everyone they haven't even got round to checking all the applications yet.

If you haven't heard anything you are still in the mix

Good luck

Hmmm. Do you think we can print out our next stage letter from HR and use it to travel to Leeds or just have to buy a ticket? All the times previously I was told to use it to travel to the assessments/ interview. Its been a few years so maybe changed by now?

If I have to buy the ticket its no bother. Just thought could save a few pennies!
