Haven’t read the thread, so apologies if I repeat anything.

I’m slightly relieved. Not because I voted or supported the conservatives. Not because I’m looking forward to 5 years of conservative rule. And certainly not because I want Br**it.

Relieved because this will, hopefully, cause the Labour Party to have a seismic change in direction, and most importantly leadership - and not just at the top. Then come back much stronger with a sensible set of policies, and with a credible and reputable leader and leadership team. The next two weeks are crucial for the Labour Party. Will Steptoe go? Will momentum be sidelined? Will a new force emerge? If not, the country will be blue for the foreseeable future.

My thoughts exactly.

If he stands, then I'll be voting for Keir Starmer.

I fear Labour will have a sexist no men policy for the next leadership. Even if they don't, I don't see him winning a ballot of members now that the party is far/hard left.

Darlo has gone to the Tories. Heidi Allen already lecturing on how the voters don’t understand what they’re voting for...

I'm what many would describe as a "Red Tory", and in my opinion this election has shown it's clear the Labour Party's direction needs to change if it's ever going to win another general election.

Tony Blair won three consecutive elections for a reason.

Fair answer.

As a lifelong Tory voter, I’m gutted that the Labour Party is failing to provide any kind of sensible opposition. We desperately need that, in order to keep the Tories honest - look at who we will end up with as PM tomorrow.

I guess we get the politicians we deserve. Not sure what that says about us!

Absolutely, I completely agree.

At the moment Labour just feels like a protest movement which isn't interested in winning power or providing a robust opposition. Every government needs a decent opposition to hold them to account, and for the past nine years I think Labour has failed to do so. Unless a moderate replaces Corbyn, then in my opinion nothing will change and I fear an even worse result in 2024.

Absolutely.

As a lifelong Tory will I be glad when we win tomorrow? Yes I guess on one level, I will.

Will I be glad about our PM, no, I really bloody won’t.

Politics has become utterly depressing.

I suspect that will be an argument we see repeated on our screens many times over coming days and weeks, and probably very much longer beyond that.

4 senior Labour politicians have been on in the last 2 hours, and all have said the same thing - it’s primarily about Brexit, and nothing to do with Corbyn and the policies. Delusional.

It kinda was about Brexit, wasn’t it. Awful as Corbyn is.
