Another planet...
A few others that deserve a plug:
Lindybeige: Military history and war gaming, with a bit of commentary and Lindy-hop thrown in.
Todd In The Shadows: Pithy pop music reviews, including themed episodes called "One Hit Wonderland" and "Trainwreckords" which you can probably guess the subject of.
Rationality Rules: Atheism, general debunking of pseudoscience. He's unfairly (IMO) considered persona non grata in some circles but then if you're in those circles you already know all about that.
Three Arrows: A German who does videos in English, debunking right-wing talking points.

Donoteat was mentioned early on, and I'd definitely recommend his "Well There's Your Problem..." podcast on engineering disasters, which now goes out on its' own channel.

Do you mean the Atheist Experience transgender controversy? I thought that had blown over.

Mostly Glasgow-ish. Mostly.
Paul Joseph Watson for political comment... not for the faint hearted though!

He's an idiot, as are the rest of his fellow numpties inhabiting Infowars. PJW needs to go outside and get some fresh air. Anyone that takes his shtick seriously needs their head examined.

+1 for LGR. His rooting around random Goodwill stores is always fun, as is his penchant for woodgrain!

I am fine for education and entertainment, thanks. I get that by reading widely in, you know, old fashioned books writ by them actual experts. I have absolutely no interest in crack pot enthusiasts wibbling on about machinery or dull stuff.
I read books too, on all sorts of stuff, generally about three on the go at any time.

But you have a very narrow view of Youtube. I do some serious work on cars, and seeing other guys doing a job I am intending to do myself helps a lot. I'm not talking about repairs at the Haynes book level (they are for beginners these days) but things like dismantling gearboxes. I do have books at the other extreme, like the official workshop manual for my car; it is 7000 pages long and despite (or because of) that it is almost useless.

Another occasional hobby of mine is scam baiting. I don't think there are any books on the subject and even if there were they would not demonstrate successful baiting styles - you need to hear it done. Scammer Payback on Youtube for example.

I pay people to do things like that ;) I am not very technical so even watching a video is of little help! Although it was useful when I had to rewire a pug the other day and forgot the wiring colourings!

I don't need silly ( Amercian) internet people to tell me how to waste peoples time, thanks. I am quite good at that ;)

How exactly does one go about this. Is a muzzle required? Where do you stick the fuse?

As for preferring the printed word over 'crackpot enthusiasts' on YouTube, I have to disagree. Recently for me I was after a guide on how to fit a DCC chip to an old N gauge locomotive. Doubtful there would be a published written guide for the specific loco. A few clicks and I found a YouTube video that was just the job.

Also, my Haynes Manual was useless for guidance on fitting an aftermarket DAB stereo to my Renault Megane. Again, YouTube to the rescue.

On the other hand I've had very little luck building a free energy perpetual motion machine based on the guidance of YouTubers. Funnily enough their devices always seem to work fine, I must be doing something wrong.

You’re not using the right kind of elastic band.
Mine works fine.

A couple of really good channels that I have been getting into lately are Curious Droid and CinemaSins. The former is an educational channel mainly about space, the latter is an amusing analysis of popular movies.
