Oh. Well I suppose it’s better than no train. Thankfully there’s the 170’s on the Scarborough to Sheffield service today.

Some are on the new Halifax to Hull service. One of the early eastbounds may bring new 170 over to Hull. In last timetable I believe there was an ecs 170 working from Holbeck sidings to Hull.

None whatsoever, ah hahahaa!

Lots of 144's though, 144002 on the 15:05 Sheffield to Adwick (it was a 158 yesterday, looks to be either 150/158/144 on that now).

With the Tyne and Wear Metro strike tommorow are Northern likely to use the spare 142s to form 4 carriage services on the Durham Coast Line?

Yesterday, two 142s coupled together were on the Kirkby line seen at Pemberton station at 18:23. I did not get the unit numbers as it was dark and I was driving. Today I have only seen 150/1s on the line.

No longer are there 142’s on any services either to or from Hull. A bit strange without them, but good to have better trains in regular service.

Go to Leeds at 4PM on a weekday and it isn’t a happy place. Full and standing 142s on the Leeds York stopping service, the Leeds Lancaster and a few others. There aren’t as many as there used to be though.

I've not seen any 142s in Leeds this week. The Lancaster / Morecambe's I've seen have been 158s and there's less 144s around too

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but, 142005 has been brokrn up CF Booth's and 142044 is not far behind it.

It may not be as bad as it seems, the Gov. could be doing a U turn on the 2020 regs. on toilet access and such. To do with as long as the "train" is coupled to another "train" that is compliant that will be OK.

I think that this was in the Independent paper or website.

There was a 142, coupled to a Sprinter, working between Oxford Rd to Lime Street today. Here it is at Lime St on the 1535 back:

I'm from down South, so I don't know if this is at all unusual.
142024 in sidings East of Allerton depot, too.

Service to Leeds from Sheffield cancelled today due to “ more trains needing repairs than normal” roughly decoded as no slack in the system when things go pear shaped !

Just heard on Radio Humberside that Northern has apologised for so many cancellations today.
Spokesperson said it was due to"unprecedented level of staff sickness".

Explanations do not tally up!!!!

242090 is earning its crust. One of the better interiors although had a resonance through the unit and smell of diesel to spoil the effect this afternoon. Late on the 15.45 out of Sheffield, held for late running EMR service.

On my way into Piccadilly yesterday afternoon, there were two Pacers in Longsight on the wheel lathe side. They were parked at the very far south end of the siding - think it was on the same line as the new platform they built recently for the 323s to use.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to i/d them as I was bowled by a double sprinter. Not sure whether they were just awaiting another turn or in storage.
