Not sure if it still runs but there was a Bristol - Plymouth XC service early Saturday mornings which goes via Bath & Westbury

  • Baildon, Guiseley, Menston, Burley-In-Wharfedale, Ben Ryhdding
  • Rochdale, Hebden Bridge, Halifax, Bradford Interchange, New Pudsey
  • Skipton, Keighley, Bingley
Shipley would be in there too, however 1 LNER from London to Skipton does not currently call there Skipton-bound in the evening.
The LNER 'Airedale Executive' does not stop at Bingley in either direction. Nor does the Scarborough Spa Express.

Plus of course there is plenty of freight that doesn't stop at any stations in Airedale. We were asked to consider both passenger and regular freight workings.

Yes, you are right about the LNER through Bingley, doh! However is the Scarborough Spa regular enough to fit the considerations the OP mentioned, and come to think of it are the freights frequent enough to disqualify the Aire stations?

Poppleton, Hammerton, Cattal, Knaresborough, Starbeck, Harrogate.
Malton, Seamer, Selby, Beverley, Driffield.

Marlin and Seamer were skipped by the summer EMT service to Scarborough had that been scrapped?

  • Rochdale, Hebden Bridge, Halifax, Bradford Interchange, New Pudsey
As well as the freights, there are 13 TPX overnight services (passenger and ECS) for whom the Calder Valley is the booked route.

And the last service of the night: 0036ish from Bradford to Leeds goes non-stop through New Pudsey.

Plenty of freight every day, so should be sufficient to rule out all of Airedale. Wharfedale is a different kettle of fish, although in leaf fall season the RHTT is non stop.

Well that RHTT shouldn't count as it regularly fails or at least runs so late it messes up the first trains on the triangle... <D

Hall I'th Wood Bromley Cross and Darwen should also count? Although a few morning services have been known to skip the former due to overcrowding, which being Northern seems very frequent!

I don't think the TPEs get to Halifax and Bradford Int though
Is it possible to run through Bradford Int non stop? I'd have thought stations that only have terminal platforms would be excluded by default.

There's empty stock which goes that way.

Has anybody mentioned Leeds?

The only time I passed through non-stop was on a returning Bradford Exchange - Hull special carrying Hull KR supporters home in the early 1970s. I was told to get on at the gate in Bradford even though I hadn't been to the match or come in on the special.

What about a number of stations on Waterloo-Reading line? Can’t think of any trains which don’t stop at Richmond, Twickenham, Staines, Ascot, Bracknell, Wokingham

Wokingham has the daily XC services to/from Guildford which pass through non stop.

There is regular non-stop freight through Leeds.

Depending on if we’re not including engineering work diverts, as far as I know, all trains in passenger service are scheduled to call at Calstock, Chichester, Fratton, Portsmouth & Southsea, Havant, Petersfield, Haslemere & Guildford. Fareham and Cosham both came to mind originally but Fareham has the Southern 1Yxx which skip the station, and GWR don’t call at Cosham after 2000. There is very little freight in the area apart from Eastleigh engineers trains and 1 a week stone trains.

Not all Sunday passenger services call at Haslemere or Petersfield.

For Havant the daily Merehead to Chichester doesn’t call.

I had forgotten about the Sunday super fast services that skip petersfield and Haslemere.
Are you sure the Chichester stone is daily?
