141108 at the Colne Valley Railway
141113 at the Midland Railway Centre, Butterley.

Two other 141s (141103/141110) were preserved but cut up in 2009/2018.

143603 is going to the Swindon & Cricklade Railway

Didn't realise that the weardale ones had been cut up! They were used for a while.

Two 141s were at Lage Zwaluwe according to Wikipedia? Probably not there anymore though.

No they wouldn't. What services are you expecting the NRM to provide with 142001? Also 142036 isn't preserved and unless their fund raising picks up significantly it won't be.

142036 has been secured, its been said on facebook. they are just looking for funds to help with transport and maintenance costs
the NRM have said they will be running 142001 on there new test track, leased to heritage railways and for railtours

It has said no such thing. They set up an appeal on Facebook to raise the £10,000 to purchase and transport it and have so far raised just over £300.

I hate to disappoint you but 142001 isn't going to be used on railtours. I doubt it will see much use on preserved railways either.

im just repeating what its owner has said, if it dosent then it dosent

What test track?

Is 142001 not already at Shildon as part of the collection? The rm have said they want to keep it operational for rides on the demo line at shildon

It would be very much against NRM policy for an item of diesel stock to be maintained and loaned out to heritage railways trundling it up and down a test track will probably allow a fairly inexpensive maintenance regime

I think as soon as something breaks it will be stuffed and mounted like the rest

they do let groups have custodianship of diesel stock, that could possibly happen.

They have in the past, yes. But anyone considering working on NRM assets needs to think twice. Then think twice more.

And 55002....

Indeed, I can't see why anyone would risk dealing with the NRM at the moment after the 2 examples mentioned above. I expect 142001 will end up stuffed and mounted as soon as anything involving more than a token sum of money is required.

I posted on another thread, but will post here as well in case it gets missed, that the first half of 142030 arrived at Chasewater on Monday, the other yesterday.
Interestingly perhaps, and I don't think it's something that should be kept private; the leasing company donated the purchase price of 142029 to charity (perhaps because the purchaser was, itself, a charity).

According to Wikipedia, an entrant wants to have a Class 142 and update it to meet disability standards.

With 143603 due to being preserved at the Swindon and Cricklade railway means I won't have to travel far from my hometown of Abingdon to catch one - X2 to Didcot Parkway station then a GWR train to Swindon then I guess a bus from Swindon bus station to the heritage railway!
