Oh yeah, iam not criticising the overall train. The S stock is a massive improvement for the met, circle and h + c line however I still feel the D stock could have had a couple more years at least? Not quite, there are also some layout differences between the LNER and GWR examples (e.g. the lack of a buffet with the latter).
The S7/S8 is a good shout actually, they have become excellent units, very high reliability, comfortable seats compared to what has come both before and after them, pretty reliable A/C as well as being the first air-conditioned tube stock, loud clear & visible PIS systems that also very rarely go wrong and optimal layouts for the routes they operate to permit maximum capacity. The S-stock will be a hard act to follow on the tube as they are pretty much an example of doing everything right. They still come with the cheap plastic interior common to Bombardier stock but given the above I'm more than happy to overlook that.
The only criticisms I have with the S stock would be the odd inaccurate PIS information and the S8 hand rails not matching the met line colour otherwise its just too bland.
Overall its great, I think its actually better than the 710 and the 345 so far
