And that's fine. No-one is forced to apply for this. It is an option which may suit some people, it won't suit everyone, but it was never intended to.

Absolutely spot on. Finally someone who doesn't know what's best for every driver on the network.

Did my last post infer that?

Not in the slightest. You spoke as an individual and in no way made out you were speaking for everyone. I was responding to Greatkingrat regarding his comment which was absolutely spot on.

What some people see as part time others see as full time and vice versa. There's plenty out there that'd see our current 34 hour week as part time anyway.

This vacancy has now closed with a high number of applications already received. I’ve also applied so fingers crossed.

I applied as well, does living close to depot really makes a difference? (I live right next to depot so therefore can walk to the depot)

I would say it doesn’t make much of a difference, just fits you into their hour travel guideline. I live within walking distance of Dartford yet I’m in a talent pool for there whilst others who live further afield have been offered jobs.

Was told today they received over 1100 applications for this advert and HR are going through and trying to get the application packs sent out ASAP.

If this got over 1100 applications which tbh, I’m not surprised I dread to think how many applications that Greater Anglia got after leaving their adverts up for months

I didn’t even see this role advertised. It seems a bit unfair that there are people in the talent pool for the shunter position that could have done this. Surely they could save themselves some money and used the people with valid test passes.

A city as densely populated as London 1.1k applicants doesn't surprise me. Its a great opportunity and for part-time hours the wage is decent a good way to get a license why would you not apply if this is the career you desire.

If someone has passed all the assessments with MTR would they need to redo any assessments?

You might have to complete the online SJT assessments but the other classroom assessment; you won’t need to do them again, as you passed at enhance level.

Does anyone know if they require national or enhanced passes. If you are lucky enough to get through to assessment?

I saw someone on a thread saying it was national standard but I’m pretty sure when I did assessments for a shunter driver position before it was enhanced.

They were taking national passes for the shunters courses. Guess they will do the same for the trainee driver role.

I have applied and going for 1st assessment soon, I live within half mile from East ham depot. Working as a postman since 2001. Getting up early is not a problem for me. I'll be very lucky if I get it. I would appreciate If you guys can pass any tips to pass assessments. Thanks in advance.
