Can't find a thing for the one trip that'd save me the most, but coupled with another cheap advance it's getting me from the world's worst airport to Northampton for less than two pints

Seems like the whole Northern website has had a sense of humour failure now...

You can still get to the site by going to https://www.buytickets.northernrailway.co.uk/ but the 10p tickets no longer appear.

There's no way they sold them all, so hopefully they'll be back tomorrow...

The last time they did this offer, 10p tickets were still available a couple of days after they said they'd sold out.

Spent about £1.50. Going from Manchester to Leeds, Chester and Sheffield on different weekends. Then going from Chorley to Barrow another weekend. I also ended up buying another return to Leeds on the same day as I realised I wanted to stay later as I'm meeting up with friends. And then also booked an emergency ticket incase I end up staying that night. Think I went a little off the rails . Saved over 100 pounds altogether!

after searching, go to the bottom and 'Click here to check if slower routes with cheaper tickets are available.'
if the 10p fare doesn't show on that page, then it's not on that route.

Bradford to Southport and Bradford to Bridlington weren't on the September 10p release off memory, you had to go from Leeds to Southport and Leeds to Doncaster (10p) and then Doncaster to Bridlington (10p).

I guess the new Hull to Halifax Northern train has opened up that corridor.

will you be joining us at the York pub meet or Leeds meal? :D

If anyone is interested and has any questions please do get in touch.

It'll be the Leeds meal for me, Yorkie. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

On the 22nd Jan, I've bought 10p tickets to Morecambe. Fish and Chips for me.

Congleton not in the list of stations but other small northern run stations are. Is there special criteria for stations to be able to have 10p tickets?

Hi, I’m also from Congleton. The reason for this is because Congleton has no advance tickets anyway, something I’m working with northern to change (especially as we used to have advanced and northern removed them in 2017!)

It creates many unfair scenarios such as Congleton - Manchester commuters paying £16+ being on the same rammed train as commuters from Macclesfield who are ignoring fast trains because they can use northern from £5 return in the peak. It also excludes us from sales such as this.

Best option is to get 10p fares from Macclesfield, Stockport or Manchester and buy a return from Congleton to there. Increases the cost quite a bit though!

Is there a website that allows you to find a Northern only itinerary? For example, I want to go from Manchester to Newcastle but with 10p tickets. What's the best Northern route for this?

Are northern willing to let you start short?

I recall they once told passengers from somewhere like Sabdbach they could start short (perhaps @Puffing Devil may recall this?)

Eg: buy 10p Stoke-Manchester and board at Congleton?

I’ve not heard anything but as you can imagine it’s incredibly tempting, don’t want to end up needing the Disputes & Prosecutions thread though!

Tweet them, email them, ask staff (is the station staffed by Northern?)
All you need is one person to authorise it and you'd win any dispute

If the 10p tickets go back on sale, you should be able to do Victoria-Leeds-Carlisle-Newcastle for 30p.
I don't think they have 10p tickets for the route round the Cumbria coast.

They only have 10p tickets as far as Barrow.

I've done Bradford Forster Square to Carlisle 10p and stopped short at Skipton and Settle on the outward ticket and returned from there with zero problems.

If anything the conductors encouraged it for picking up a bargain.

Just bought tickets for me & Polar Bear.
We are going Blackpool North on the 25th to ride trams etc
Hebden Bridge on the 1st Feb to buy another travel card and see west yorkshire
8th Feb Manchester to ride trams possibly.
I bought our tickets by logging into my Northern Account , NOT through the Flash Sale portal.

Hi mate on your post you say Blackpool on 25th January to ride the trams if you are referring to the heritage tram gold weekend which they usually have last weekend of every month this year they have altered it e.g January’s is 18/19th February’s is 15th 16th

Is travel on non northern services included? Tickets are listed as being available from Malton but I haven't found any yet.

I reckon that is an error, a by product of the Northern services that were supposed to start last month.

I quite fancy Skipton. Does it have a barrier at all? If not I can't see it being a problem getting off there rather than carrying onto Leeds, bur like has been said, would rather stick to the rules.

Why not just get a ticket to Skipton and save any hassle?
