Current 2020 highest average speed rail journeys?

What are currently the current fastest station to station average rail journeys in the UK? Obviously the fastest rail journies will probably be on high speed one but what about the rest of the network?

One of them must be several of the evenings London Euston to Tamworth services that take almost exactly an hour to do 110 miles meaning a 110 miles per hour average. Are there any faster ones?

I have been told also that Tamworth to Lichfield Trent Valley which is a distance of just under 7 miles are the two closest stations where trains reach 125 miles per hour while stopping at both stations, I don't know if that is true though.

Ashford to Stratford (not stopping Ebbsfleet)

Wouldn't be surprised if Paddington to Chippenham/Bristol Parkway makes an entry this year

I think the fastest scheduled net time to / from Bristol Parkway is currently 63.5 minutes or 105.56 mph.

How does Kings Cross - Grantham compare, on some Hull Trains they can do it in 60 minutes for 105 mile. I would imagine a 802 and when Kings Cross remodelling is complete the time can be reduced slightly?

The answer is some evening peak Stratford-Ashford journeys taking 27 minutes at 111.4mph.

End to end 1E01, 0540 from Edinburgh averages 98mph to KX which must rate highly for an end to end service not using HS1, also averages 104mph between Newcastle and KX.

Not really, there's usually an overnight blockade on one of the line pairs, so the fast services have to fit round the stoppers

Euston to Warrington Bank Quay usually arrives 1 min early when punctual (it did often with VT) does 105mph. On Tuesday the 0830 to Glasgow did the journey in 101 mins, averaging 108 mph! I suspect the Azumas will improve journey times on the ECML, York to Kings Cross should take about 110 mins meaning trains average 104mph.

The 802s would definitely improve journey times, I have to say I haven't seen a Hull Trains arrive into Grantham early, it comes close though!

The advertised journey time of 23 mins for 35 miles of Paddington-Reading comes out approximately 91mph, surprisingly low.

The 15 mph over the points goes upto 25 mph and then 55 mph starts just before Gasworks tunnel where presently the 15 mph is still effective. Given the 800 `s acceleration this really ought to save some time There`s a good diagram in the April edition of Modern Railways

Time savings are not given but I would have thought a couple of minutes was there plus there will be two more tracks (6 in total) in and out and out of the station itself due to the reopening of the extra bore in Gasworks tunnel.
