Subjective - I think you'll find you're probably in the minority with that opinion!
I woudn't say minority, maybe on this forum but across the general public many people find them comfortable, I've spoken to many about the 800s and a lot of people are fine with the seats!

The 800 seats are very comfortable, as if not more comfortable than the mk4 seats with LNER.
If they are anything like the Azuma seats then the standard seats will not be very comfortable - and I base that on numerous journeys I have made.
The seats may have more legroom but that doesn't make them comfortable.

The seats debate has widely been put as opinion ever since the ironing boards and 700s coming about years ago. Reality is, the majority of the public may go "oh that's firm" when first sitting down then not care enough to notice the metal support or whatnot.

Let's leave the seat chat there shall we? If anyone really wants to rake over those same coals again please do so in a new thread.

According to Hull Trains Twitter feed 802303 entered service on 10th January, possibly on the 0727 KGX - HUL.

Is the 0727 regularly operated by an 802 now? Looking at booking this for a site visit next week in Leeds (changing at Doncaster) - I don't normally bother with split ticketing but I'm a bit put out by LNER discontinuing open returns so to hell with it, may as well give another TOC my business. That is the whole point of open access operators after all!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure they have capacity to operate all diagrams with 802s now.

Aren't they part of the single leg fares trial and aren't the singles now half of what the returns were?

One for another thread I think but yes, I think there's some confusion between anytime and off-peak open returns, the latter still seem to exist. Either way, the HT option is vastly cheaper so probably still worth it even based on a moderate likelihood of me having to change / cancel it.

I noticed this mornings (17/2) 06:26 Hull to London service had to terminate at Peterborough.
Anybody know if it was a Paragon?

Yes indeed it was, 802303 I think.
I saw it at Peterborough going the other way on 802302. It might just have been due to the signalling issues though?

The Hull - London service was cancelled at Peterborough after sustaining a bird strike between Grantham & Peterborough, causing horn issues.

These 800 class trains don't seem to be that robust... that's the second one in less than a week that's been taking out of action due to a bird strike

To be honest has any new train delivered the last year or two been really reliable? Look at the CAF stuff and the bag of rubbish Basil 755s!! As far as I know no new fleet has entered service on time or had a trouble-free introduction...

Nice pic!

Anyone have any info on 305?
The performance of the Paragons has been pretty good so far. 305 cd spend alot of its time not needed in service! Any info on future plans for Hull Trains? Article in recent edition of Rail hinted at operating new routes.
