What is you PayPal account linked to. We were doing my wife's business accounts yesterday and somehow one of her refunds went straight to her bank account linked to it never showed on PayPal, no idea why. May be worth checking any linked bank or credit card accounts as well.

I've used delay repay with WMR and it was almost instant into my paypal account. If you haven't confirmed your email address, you wont receive payments into your account.

I've never done Delay Repay with XC. With GTR there is always a few days delay between the Approved stage and the payment actually being submitted by the TOC to Paypal. When it arrives in your PayPal a/c you get a notification from PayPal. So obviously you need to wait 10 days before chasing.

Do you have a bank current account linked to PayPal and is the status "Confirmed"?

I think it depends on your Paypal settings. You can select for refunds to stay in your Paypal account and be used against future purchases (I think this is the default), or be repaid into the linked account. Either way, you should get an email from Paypal advising you of the refund.

In my case, it was the best part of a week after I had been advised by TfW for the payment to be received.

I think it depends on just how many people you are happy to have a record of your bank account details that can potentially be hacked..........

I have received delay repay via paypal with XC. The payment arrived 4 days after the email.

Delay repay is not a refund. It is a separate payment. Thus there is no way it will go into a bank account via paypal. It can only go to paypal balance.

If you bought a train ticket with paypal and you did not receive it, then you could get a refund via paypal. If the funding source was a bank card or a bank account then the refund will go directly to the funding source. If you request a refund because the train was cancelled, then it is possible that the retailer would go through all their paypal transactions and refund yours, in which case the same applies. However if instead of refunding they make a separate payment then it will only end up in paypal balance.

Fraudsters can do a lot more with access to your PayPal than with access to your sort code and account number.
