Not sure if there's already a thread on this elsewhere but are Southern planning on refurbishing their 377s? Last week I got on one (albeit only for a ten minute journey) but the seats were absolutely diabolical. Brown stains on almost every seat from where people's sweaty heads had been, and all in all looking very shabby. I understand they've worked hard across south London/Sussex and every unit is probably utilised elsewhere, but they're very tired now.

Yes some of them have had an interior refresh but I've been told that it will be up to the new franchiser who takes over in 2021 about what to do with the 377 fleet some say they will get a standardized interior.

I’ve been on some where the seats seem to be newish. And relatively clean.

377/1s have all been refurbed in the last 18 months.
Thing is, every time they do that they just keep using the horrible “astroturf” seat covers which show dirt much more.

A rolling refurb is underway

Refurbished units have the new external logos and new vestibule carpet and seat covers but otherwise a deep clean and surfaces resprayed etc

It's surprising that plug sockets or usb points have nor beeb retrofitted to the older 377s

Surely guaranteed for the next award

It really is odd to keep using these covers. As u say they look old and dirty quickly. Im guessing they are cheap.

The head rests on the older seats are often baggy and the grab handles loose

I would quite happily take a few grubby 377's over the filthy and very tired 313's with no toilet that we have on the coast!
