Had an interview before xmas. There was 2 positions. Looked on oracle before and it says “application reassigned to new vacancy” anyone got an idea what this means?

same happened with me. The hiring manager said he had 2 positions available but at different boxes on the same line. Same grade, so to save paperwork he advertised 1 and wanted to hire 2. Maybe they are splitting the locations to offer you one of them if this is the case for you? Or are both positions the same box?

same box mate, the job was advertised under the same irc number so one application for both jobs im presuming. Someone had been offered one of the positions but the 2nd position is still up for grabs according to hr. After reading on here it sounds like it happened to a few people and they got the job. However i’m not getting my hopes up

Difficult not to get your hopes up though, I know the feeling. Waiting to hear myself but HR won’t chase until 3 weeks has passed since my interview!

I wouldn't get hung up on how the status for for NR jobs changes. If there is anything important to say then you will get an email.

Anyone in for Dunblane? Only closed yesterday so probably be a while before any news on next steps.

Hi Mate,

Yes applied for Dunblane aswell, just had the email today about the online test. Have you attempted it yet? Going to do it this weekend I think! Best of Luck

Another interview and once again I’m the reserve candidate. So disappointing and deflating when it takes so long to be given the opportunity of an interview to be unsuccessful. I suppose each 1 is practice for the next but they can be years apart if you even get another chance

Asked for feedback this time so hopefully I can get some pointers on where to improve

I had 5 interviews, and twice was the reserve candidate. I asked for feedback on every interview which helped me plan how I would answer the questions at the next interview. The questions were always the same just phrased differently. I’m sure you’ll get there eventually.

Is the benchmark pass for the 3 online tests a standard mark across the board or is it different for each advertised role?
I did not meet the benchmark a few months ago and have applied for another position. I was only sent the verbal reasoning test this time. I have just attempted it and it would not allow me to. Just said I had completed the test and my results stand for 12 months. If it is a standard benchmark across the board then I'm stumped for 12 months.

Thanking you! I’ve had a taste of the 12 hour shift and not sure I’m willing to go back to 8 hours. It was brutal.

these new positions are due to the 60 hour fatigue management that’s coming in and there’s a possibility that the rosters will change to 12 hour as a result.

no guarantee though.

Afternoon all

Does anybody know what length shifts they use at the Allington box? Also is there an estimate of how long this box will remain operational?

Thanks

Ahoy - I have applied there too. It's at the top end of the commute I can bear but otherwise looks great.

Have been working my way through this thread absorbing info. Many thanks to all that have posted.

Googled Greenloaning signal box and the results seem to indicate it's defunct or semi defunct. Yet they're recruiting 4 resident signallers? Have I missed something?

Greenloaning has been "Switched out" and manned only as required for many years, due to the increased frequency of trains it's been decided to open it on a 24 hour basis to split up the block section and provide resilience to the timetable.

Ah many thanks, that makes sense.
