I thought that four car 331s weren’t coming to Yorkshire?

They are already here and in use. The original plan was to operate 2*3 car units for the main peak Aire Valley paths, however there is nowhere near enough platform capacity for them so the 4 car units are here instead.

Why are they short at the moment? Is it the timing of 331 delays into service and 333 refurbishment?

3 X 333s out of action at the moment (1 refurbishment, 1 serious structural issues and 1 at sat at Skipton). Still only a couple of 331 diagrams out

Do you know roughly how many 321/322 units are out each day? Can't be more than 3 surely.

Booked its 1/2 on the triangle. Day to day it seems to vary between 2 and 5 and cover the triangle and Doncaster. Depends how many 331s they've managed to get going

Didn't think you get them on Doncasters anymore, thought that was the priority for 331s east of the Pennines.

Unfortunately not if it's a 331 diagram and can't be replaced then it just runs as normal onto the next days diagram which could be Doncaster

37 884 hauled 321 901/902 south through Doncaster
Platform gossip said they were going to Crewe
Strange. With the glacial progress of platform 0 and a question mark hanging over the condition of the 333s Northern seem short of 4 car emus. Perhaps there going to Crewe for work to extend there time with Northern.

You mean 321s on Manchester Services?!

Both my Airedale services were 322s yesterday: 07:44 off Skipton and 17:55 off Leeds. The latter was rather cosy, as the 17:41 was cancelled (again!).

Seems a bit premature to be sending 321s away.

So are the 321s now currently out of operation? I find it hard to believe Northern can operate all the EMU diagrams around Yorkshire without them, especially with the 333 refurb.

Have any of the units been operating over the new year holiday period? Hoping to see some on the 7th.

There seem to be as many 322s as ever on the Wharfedale Line: of 8 journeys I took last week, 3 turned out to be 322s (one Ilkley–Bradford, one Bradford–Ilkley, and one Ilkley–Leeds), all of which were shown on Realtime Trains as “Pathed as Class 333 EMU” — and at least the Leeds journey being one that's usually a 333.

This morning there was a broken down 322 clogging up platform 2 at Ilkley, and the train I was on crossed with another 322 at Guiseley (I think the 09:02 from Leeds, which apparently spent 19 minutes on the platform at Guiseley).

I think I've only seen one 331 this year, and I haven't been on one for months.

By contrast, I haven't seen any Class 321/322s in Doncaster since the Class 331s were rolled out!

All electric services on the triangle are shown as pathed for class 333 regardless of the booked traction, whether it be 333, 32x or 331.

I think it's different day by day. I went up to West Yorkshire on the 7th and that day 4 322s were out, and 321903 and 322481 were at Neville Hill. All of them were on the triangle. The day before, 321903 was working one of the Doncaster to Leeds diagrams, ever since the 331 introduction I've only seen them be the units on the Doncaster to Leeds services.
