I suppose after losing the CC work, Kernow aren't getting their hopes up on any future contracts, only best to prepare for the worse, but PCB can't think their winning streak will last forever, they have enough drivers and buses to find as it is
It doesn't really work like that. If they achieve the highest score in the evaluation then the council has to award them the work. The school routes, which it is rumoured FK won most of, were way over budget and are being retendered on a bargain basement Euro 2 basis so sounds as if it's going to be a straight fight on price.

I hope some of the independents will be in the mix this time to keep them going.

If Cornwall College, Saltash was in the mix for the school/college routes then it'll have to come out. It's closing in July after 35 years due to government funding cuts.

If it’s in the wrong depot. Or already working when the fault is discovered there isn’t a lot can be done to swap them over.

Unfortunately the Go Cornish Trident has had an engine compartment fire which looks terminal.

Was one of the ones staying long term as well, although given the current uncertainty surrounding routes wouldn't of thought a replacement decker would either be transferred in or ones of the Tridents due to go being kept

But would of thought one of the Gemini's due to arrive, will become the next 'Go Cornish bus'

A Tinner on the U4 tonight, much less common these days when they're more likely to be seen on the A17, or were before the Carbis Bay works anyway.

Seen at St Erth railway station earlier were a blue E400MMC and a E400 both on T2 services. According to bustimes they were 33479 & 33422. Bustimes also saying Tinner E400MMC 33464 is on service 5.

53816 (I think) without working destination, with cardboard cut out 1A (!) arrived outside Boots in Market Jew St at 15.22: the one passenger waiting made enquiries but it wasn't her bus. I'm still unclear whether it was the delayed 15.09 A1 to St Buryan or a 16A,because that didn't quite work in with the timetable either. Whichever, a better job should have been attempted.

Busaholic - I saw 53816 on a service 69A on Wednesday. It had no working destination display and a piece of paper in the windscreen with the route number on it. It isn't tracking on bustimes either.
