There are rumours about a number with various faults as well as they have around 8 in store, 4 on training and 7 awaiting delivery.Does anyone know if Northern had free 195s this Saturday afternoon? Asking as some friends were rammed onto a two car 195 Manchester Airport- Liverpool Lime St this afternoon and I saw a tweet from Northern saying all available stock was out. Just wondering in the context of the 10 units mentioned here earlier this week which were commissioned but reserved for training, which presumably wasn’t happening today as there were 195s in sidings. I get that they could have been under maintenance, but just interested if Northern did have spare 195s but just hadn’t planned them into diagrams today.

True!They've only got one!

And Northern have sent a load of Pacers back to Angel, so don't let anyone tell you that the present implied rolling stock shortage is anything other than intentional.
Is this knocking noise from under 195s common to all of them, or just a problem with this particular unit? It doesn't appear to be track joint noise. I've complained about something similar on 345s but it's never as bad as this. It occurs at various points throughout this video and is really noticeable compared to the rest of the noise from the unit.
(5m24 onwards if the timestamp doesn't come through)

First time on a 195 yesterday from Chester to Leeds. Then onto a 170, also for the first time. The 170 ride was a clear step up from the 195, which was vibrating and banging for most of the trip. Even my regular refurbed 150 rides better. Why not put the 170 on the longer route and the 195 on the Harrogate?
Can someone please explain how these units can pass any safety testing when this morning arriving in Leeds on a packed commuter, two people get off, the third is approaching the doors, the door close goes off and he ends being pushed off the train by the closing doors.
After being on another service back from Leeds with three colleagues we are all of the opinion Northern have been ripped off.
The notice by the SOS button also makes no sense whatsoever.
This is still going on? It's not difficult, other stock manages to sense if the doorway is occupied when doors are closing and not being locked.
Looking back up the thread the last two posts about the ‘door closing unexpectedly’ issue seem to have been the above two from 18 and 22 November.
Since then there have numerous posts regarding poor ride, PIS out of sync, ASDO/doors not opening, noisy HVAC etc. but no more about passengers getting trapped in doors.
Has it been fixed - or is it just that it happens so regularly that it’s no longer worth commenting on ?
Guards are more aware that when bypassing ASDO if they don't press and hold the door release buttons and SDO switch for five seconds the doors will reclose quickly. Drivers are also aware of the fact that on arrival at the end of a journey removing the driver's master key too quickly, e.g. before door release, may result in the doors closing in the same way.Looking back up the thread the last two posts about the ‘door closing unexpectedly’ issue seem to have been the above two from 18 and 22 November.

Not heard of any deliveries from CAF for a while. Anyone any idea when delivery will be completed and/or all the new but stored units are commissioned. There are rumours about a number with various faults as well as they have around 8 in store, 4 on training and 7 awaiting delivery.

I've never yet seen a hoover employed on a CAF unit.
And yes the construction of the exterior doors is a bizarre choice, one that wouldn't be such an issue in a warmer country like Spain.
That is my impression too, albeit on not that many trips. They either do it badly or they don't seem to do it at all.the 'clunking' noise from the bogies and which thuds through the whole carriage seem to only affect some units.
Thanks. Is any progress being made on sorting out these ‘features’, as far as you know ?All software issues. And these issues, while being safety issues, are only a drop in the ocean of all the 'features' on these units.
