According to the Class 91 A&P Society Facebook group, BN21 will be stood down tonight (DVT 82227)

I believe the plan was for BN21 to stand down after operating 1E22 this evening, the 1600 Edinburgh to London Kings Cross. The loco was 91130, but this will continue in service.

I just find all this absolutely crazy when every single day we're getting 5 car 800/801s operating on 9 car schedules. Until all the Azumas are in the fleet, as many if not all remaining 225's need to be retained in service.

Not having infinite depot space usually precludes this.

Its being reported that 91132 is the next to go at the end of play today (24/01/2020), with 91104 expected to go after Monday 27th January, and then 91102 after Tuesday 28th January.

Obviously we could have a 91108 case again (which would be nice for my woeful mileages!), but time will tell.

I wonder if someone could help me track down 91104 -
Reportedly allocated to BN12 yesterday- which finished at Craigentinny last night .
Will it automatically drop on BN13 today ? 1330 Edinburgh- KX .
Any help appreciated- Many thanks

Should be doing 0655 Edinburgh to Peterborough, 1111 back to Edinburgh, 1600 to Peterborough, 2014 to Newcastle

BN12 is the set of coaches its paired with.

91132 of course being the renumbered 91023 after its involvement in first the Hadfield, then the Great Heck accidents.

It beat adversity, twice, but ultimately it couldn't beat Old Father Time.

Please could someone post a summary of which Mk4s have been stored, scrapped, or transferred to either TfW or GC. Lots of moves not fully reported, so my lists are out of date. Thanks

I’ve seen it reported 91122 has been withdrawn tonight. Not sure whether it’s in place of 104 (which was out today) or 102 (which was outside Doncaster works).

I'm looking to catch a ride on a 91 before they disappear. Am I right in thinking that if the LNER website is not advertising an ECML service as an Azuma, it'll be a 91? Specially I'm looking to go Edinburgh - Newcastle

A light 91 shot off up north from outside Doncaster works at about 1920 nose-first. Not sure if it was 102, couldn’t find on RTT.

From a question I asked LNER on Twitter :

@LNER When you retire the InterCity 225 Mk4 fleet do you have any plans to reliver one set into original livery for a one off tour like you did with the HST?

LNER: We're looking into a number of options now. ^SH

ME: Excellent. Will be good to see one. I know there is a 91 in InterCity livery. Now we just need the rake and the DVT doing!!

91122 has gone off-lease in place of 91104. 104 will continue in service for now.

That feature has disappeared off the website, possibly due to the current poor availability. You can still see the boomed formation if you go through the seat booking process and click on ‘seat map’, but there seem to be stand ins most days now!

I was hoping to get one last week, however it was swapped with an Azuma with the same seat reservations. I feel it is getting harder to find 91s. Will have to see how many pass through York station this afternoon.

Reported elsewhere that 102 should have finished off 0715 LDS-KGX this morning and 128 should finish tonight off 1700 EDB-KGX.

All that’s happened is that LNER have realised they cannot continue with the current short forms and stock problems and have come up with a way to spin it.
