Drat, just when I was going to Ipswich for the weekend.

So most of East of England has no trains to London <(
Not today and some are only going Diss-Colchester as formed of 755s that are not passed south of Marks Tey in passenger service.

Have any 745 been clocked at 110? I know most modern units are design to be able to at 10% above the top speed

How refreshing to read praise for new stock, rather than the usual whinging about why can’t knackered ex-BR trains be used for another 30 years...

Think many a passenger may disagree with 'Stadler Flirts Forever' ! (755's) LOL

745007 is on 1P11 and 745010 is on 1P15.

Looks like 010 is nowhere near as happy as it was on Friday. 1P15 is terminating at Ipswich :'(

Currently travelling on 007 which has been delayed by other services. Another advantage of these new trains was an announcement from the driver explaining the slow progress. It was certainly appreciated.

As has been mentioned previously, the quality of the PA system needs some improvement.

007 on the 14:00 LST to Norwich had brake problems approaching Manningtree, driver rebooted and got it moving again 20minutes late. I'm inclined to blame Geoff Marshall who appeared between LST and Colchester doing one of his review vloggs

Then the London - Ipswich service which is extended to Norwich serves Stratford and the other intermediates using a 720. The other semi fast Norwich could use 720's as well if needed. Thereby no one gets a reduced service, and everyone should have a faster journey and not end up "looped" all the time, and there would be sufficient stock as well.

I was very much hoping that the trains which call at Stratford would be 745s - not 720s. Its the only way I will ever get to use them as coming from Ilford I would not normally be wanting to go all the way to Liverpool Street to catch a train that takes me to East Anglia.

Last year when I went that way my ticket was routed via Stratford.

The current xx30 services that stop at Stratford should be going 745 as well. Not all of them will be, but certainly some/most of them will.

Hugely embarassing, there are always going to be teething problems but today's take the biscuit. And after yesterday evening when the Main line was pretty decimated too it could be that GA is looking at a second day of being at or near the bottom of the PPM table!

Indeed, this ranks similarly to the 802 incident, evidently needing a ramp evacuation to an adjacent train. Not seen a mk 3 failure as dramatic as that for a while.

couldn't the down main been blocked and people walked back to forest gate or forward to maryland as used to happen or has health and safety stopped this.

It depends what the fault is - I believe that sort of evacuation is normally only carried out if the brakes are isolated, as I can understand them not wanting to have anyone aboard with only the thunderbird loco providing any braking force.

Edit: Sorry I've just read your post again - I highly doubt that will be permitted as the TfL side will still be in operation, they wouldn't want to shut that down as well.

A 4 car 321 has positioned next to the failure on the DM. Looks like passengers going to be de trained to the 321.

keep the electric lines open for all traffic but only block the down main but suspect won't be allowed unless all 4 lines were blocked
