Yes it has been, painted up in full Chiltern silver livery. Operates the 0622 from Bicester North to Marylebone and 1721 from Marylebone to Bicester North (extends to Banbury on Fridays only) during the weekdays so not the most taxing of diagrams for it!
Thanks, I had no idea. I think I remember that it wasn't stabled at Banbury during the signalling/revised layout works. I guess I just assumed that it never came back.

And from your comment, you'd think they'd find more for it to do all day.

Is that the slam door peak-buster set?

In regards to the slammer set, Chiltern said that the current one has until may and then it will go but then will be replaced by another slammer, but there's only 1, so maybe ex lner! As they are most PRM out of all slammer MK3s

Very welcome. Yes unless you actually see it you would never really know of it working its trade still in service. Shame it was never power door fitted otherwise would have been useful to relieve the pressure on the 168s.

Yes it is the "peak-buster" set as it were.

Just out of interest, are all current units fitted with air-con?

168s and Mk3s have got air conditioning, 165s have a system called air cooling.

What is the mitigation against peoples' heads getting knocked off, given the ruling about the GWR Sleeper?

I assume the mitigation is that it is only utilised on two services on weekdays of which the vast majority of passengers are regular commuters familiar with the operation of the doors. In regards to slam doors surprised there was never a move by GWR to fit vertical bars on them to mitigate that risk.

Also, I think it went there for corrosion work and logo apply as it didn't have the logo before it was taken there

Was thinking the same thing. Will all the other DVTs (and 68s?) be undergoing the same work in due course?

might be a bit off-topic, but chiltern DVT 82309 was taken back to wembley LMD from bristol barton hill today, 60046 being the loco. anyone got any idea why it was there?

It went there for underframe exam work to be done. Went there on the 25th hauled by 60055.

If they are then what will they be replaced with, there's rumours that they are getting some ex TFW MK3 dvts aswell as ex lner MK3s

Would t_star be meaning 'going' as in 'going one at a time to Bristol' rather than 'going' as in 'going full stop'?

FOR CLARIFICATION
ALL OF THE CHILTERN DVT'S ARE GOING TO BARTON HILL FOR HEAVY MAINTENANCE ONLY 1 BY 1...
THEY ARE NOT GOING TO THE BIG CAN FACTORY IN THE SKY..
THEY ARE NOT BEING REPLACED IN THE NEAR FUTURE...

I mean they are getting old so the can factory could be welcoming them in a few years.

Was a 165, had to be taken out of service at Solihull but managed an ECS move to Dorridge platform 3. By chance was on a WMR couple of trains back which picked up some of the people onboard it at Solihull. Overheard someone saying it hit the driving cab but think everyone was okay which is the main thing.
Does anyone know what the number of the unit was, the extent of the damage and if it's in service?

Any updates on the new slam door set?
Also, path today on RTT, next 165 for hydrive maybe?
With the total fall off in commuting I’d be very surprised if we see the slam door set returning anytime soon. The next timetable change nationally is July 6th for 9 weeks and it doesn’t form part of that timetable. Plans after those 9 weeks are still being worked on.
