Can I find out the full virtual card number attached to a card in Google Pay?

I recently used contactless on my phone to pay for a rail journey, and I'd now like to add this contactless payment account to my Oyster account. When I go into the Google Pay app however, all that's displayed is the last four digits of the account. I can't see a way in the app to make it show me the whole virtual card number - does anyone know if this is possible?

Surely you are the card holder who entered the card number. So you should have it.

When making a contactless payment using a phone, a virtual number is generated by the payment app that corresponds to the physical card, and this is the number that's sent to the payee. I have the physical card number, but as far as TfL are concerned I paid with the virtual number that was generated so the actual card number is no use for this.

See this story where someone tapped in with a card and out with a device representing that card (or vice versa) but was charged for two incomplete journeys because TfL had no way of knowing that it was the same account.

I've got mixed information from the tinternet.

The unique number sent to the merchant is only usable within the app (from the web)
The number sent to the merchant may be limited to a single transaction and/or a new one is generated each time (from the web)
There is a way to read the number (found from the web, not directly tested yet)

The 'virtual account number' is shared with the merchant, not your actual account number (from the app)
The 'virtual account number' is viewable (I found mine)

You just need to type in the physical card number, once this has been done then any journeys are shown. I’m not sure whether this works retrospectively however as I’ve always added my cards in advance of travel.

I’ve added a number of cards to my online TfL account, just typing in the card number of the physical card. Whenever I’ve made a journey using Apple Pay, these journeys show under the actual card.

I also second what Mojo has said, I pay using my Apple Watch but have registered the actual card with TFl, the journeys show up on my account in due course, sometimes under a separate heading.

I also type in my actual card number which isn't contactless, but still allowed to use Google Pay with the virtual number which shows on my Contactless account under the original number.

The caveat to this is when I have to reinstall the app or factory reset my phone, the bank issues another virtual number, so I have a dozen cards which I have to go through to find my journey lists and charges.

TfL is one of the few merchants that is able to link a physical PAN to a Digital PAN. If you add the PAN on your card to your TfL account, linked Google/Apple Pay cards will be visible too.

Addressing the title directly: If you have another Android with NFC, there are apps available to scan the 16 digit number from a card. You can use these apps to scan your phone as if it were a physical card. Search 'EMV reader' in the play store. Do be careful though; only use an app that YOU trust not to transmit your card number to an unknown party.

That's not going to help if you're trying to use your Android phone to interrogate Google Pay running on the same Android Device...
