Unlikely to happen but could the 178 be worked by deckers?

It used to be quite regular back in the day with the red ex London Dennis Arrows. I remember the P-UFB Olympians have been used as well as the native ALX400s, can’t say I’ve seen anything more recent work it decker wise.

There are now biogas buses on routes 6/7/17 like we were told. Will this only happen on a Sunday or are there more buses ordered for these routes.

At the moment just on sundays. They have 27 at LH so they need another 16 to have enough for 6/7/17. Probably a week or two before they have enough.

10 for metrobus and 27 have been delivered to LH. So we are still awaiting 40 buses.
So when these 40 arrive and settle down 32 Geminis are heading to Kernow which would leave 8 for other withdrawals/cascades?

To be honest, there's a complex number of moves and we've not seen the full picture of what is going.

The e400Hs? The Mendip B9TLs are heading where? All the Mendip B7RLEs, and the remaining others?

I’d assume the 373/6s will stay in Bristol. Some have gone for repaint already, maybe for the 3/4 ?

The 19 today was a mix of a 8.9m Enviro 200 (44525) and a BathCity Optare Solo SR(53857) was certainly nice to have something completely different although the E200 struggled capacity wise on the pre 11am arrival to Cribbs (I.e just before the shops opened). Is this a regular thing for Sundays or is there a reason for it?

I believe the 19 had 3 enviro200s and 1 optare solo sr. The reason they are short single deckers on a Sunday is because in January they were rerouted to go through Pen Lea Road as route 9 got scrapped on a Sunday. They have to be small to fit throught the narrow street. I think they also wanted to put smaller buses on because of decreased demand although as youve said they are quite busy so i still think they need at least B7RLEs but i dont think theyd fit through Penn Lea.

Didn't someone suggest it was because on Sunday the route is diverted to cover part of the 9 service in Bath (Penn Lea Road etc). The 9 doesn't run on Sunday and bigger vehicles would find it difficult to negotiate the diversion.

Ah ok, it only got the two buses mentioned so I didn't see the other E200s, I didn't think they where even around I thought they got sent to Leeds? To be honest the Solo SR was perfectly enough once the morning rush was over, surely once the Darts finally get removed from route 5, one or two could be sent to Bath to cover the route for the time being?

Its fine i just thought id point out the other 2 enviro200s. I dont think any e200s have gone to Leeds although the older ones did go to First Essex. Bath still has 10 enviro 200s. 5 for route 1, 2 for route 20, 2 for route 42 and 1 spare. On a Sunday though they only need 3 for route 1 so there are 7 spare for the 19 althought they only need 4. I think once the darts are gone, they're probably not coming back and Bath has enough single deckers to cope. I also think the darts are probably too long to go round Penn Lea.

Call me cynical but I wonder how long the diversion to cover the 9 route will last.
i dont think long but thats because i think route 9 will get reinstated on a Sunday when the destructor bridge opens. It has been known for a while now that they have been wanting to reroute the 9 to go over the bridge and serve the new flats. When this happens i think the 9 might even become every half hour again because it will be the only route serving that bit and i think it will be really busy. What do you think?

Rumour alert...
I overheard GWR staff at Bristol Parkway this week discussing the bus stop changes currently happening there and saying that they'd heard that the bus "from Fishponds" was going to be the first service using the east entrance along with a diversion of the "Yate bus".

The latter would be logical as it would remove the double run through Stoke Gifford, not miss out any existing stops, and also would serve Great Stoke.
The former I'm thinking must be an extension of the 48A?

This sounds similar to the T1 being the first service to use the m1 stops before the m1 was launched...

I've not heard about the 9 being rerouted over the Destructor Bridge so I await that with interest. Thanks for that news.

I've been on a Dart around Penn Lea when Combe Park was closed and the 4 was on diversion and it was a tight squeeze! It might have also been one of the short 05-plate Darts, which I had completely forgotten about! Where did they ever end up?

No e200s have gone to Leeds.

At various times, examples have left to go to Scotland, Hampshire and Essex.

I dont want to start rumours about it but the previous timetable did show it going over the bridge however the timetable release last month reverted it back to its route now. That is probably temporary whilst it's still closed because there are bus stops around the new flats just past the bridge so a bus service will have to go there sometime soon otherwise they wouldnt have put up stops. (Top is new timetable - January 2020. Bottom is old timetable - April 2017)
