I've booked a trip from Huddersfield to Edinburgh return for £2 and another one for Huddersfield-Scarborough for £2 return, to try out the new fleet hopefully. Can't go wrong at that price.

When I was looking at Vic to Lime Street, it tends to block the £1 advances over the evening peak period. I’ve managed to get Leeds to Edinburgh in the morning peak, Glasgow to Picc in the start of the afternoon peak, and Lime Street to Leeds at the end of the evening peak; all for £1 each.

I can't find any £1 tickets for Liverpool to Edinburgh which is annoying.

Might I be able to find some for Preston to Glasgow or Edinburgh.

There were some earlier today as I booked Edinburgh to Liverpool for two separate dates. Was surprised to get a £1 ticket for Saturday lunchtime out of Liverpool tbh

To and from there home games for 2 quid each and an afternoon in Edinburgh for the same, that'll do

There are definitely Saturday tickets available from York to Edinburgh and vice versa too as booked return trips on the 14th of March and 18th of April.

I tried for 2 hours on multiple different devices to book tickets last night - all unsuccessfully.
Found I’d been charged 6 times for tickets so a 20 min call to the web support and told website was down and it won’t be deducted from my acct and try this morning. Tried this morning and website is down.

called them and basically told to keep trying So not impressed one bit, make it worse they can’t sell tickets over the phone apparently!

Probably pulled, rather than sold out, in reality!

I think so too. I think they pulled it when they realised they couldn't cope with the traffic. About half an hour AFTER they said they were sold out, I managed to buy a couple of returns through the app - there seemed to be plenty of availability at that time using the code ! (and, yes, my payment went through and I have confirmations)

I had the same issue.
Tried to book Liverpool Lime St to York returns for 21st March last night - first payment didnt go through and I got an error message saying card couldnt be processed.
Foolishly I tried again and got the same message and I was buying for 2 I am out £8.
Tweeted TPE last night and they said they will refund the money tomorrow, they have also said they are considering some sort of compensation for those who missed out due to their systems failing - I will believe it when I see it.
And to top it all - the sale is now over !<(<(<(

Thanks to poster of the TPE sale link.

A very rare occasion that a ticket sale comes up, and i’m going to be in that area at that time.

Picked a few tickets, going to a few new places and saved some money!

I'd like to echo the above, thank you for sharing this @skifans. Got myself a day out to Glasgow from Piccadilly, returning from Edinburgh, for £2. Certainly softens the blow of no longer having my 26-30 railcard!

Huge thanks Skifans.

I managed to bag a few days out - including a couple from MIA to EDB. But what I really love is that I've been able to book trains over some 'rare' track - including Longlands Junction - Northallerton East Junction (both ways - one train per week SuO), Darlingon avoidong line (both ways - one direction is one train per week SuO), King Edward Bridge North Junction - High Level Bridge Junction (via King Edward Bridge East Junction and Greensfield Junction).

Took me a fair few hours though - TPE website about as resilient as its timetable was earlier this year.

Guess I need to start shopping at Tesco :'(

EDIT: Seems you have to request a voucher for a specific type of railcard, and the 26-30 railcard isn't one of the options

Be interesting to know what the crush level was on your journeys!

My first £1 journey was yesterday. 0911 from Carlisle to Glasgow. Plenty of spare seats. Arrived 16 minutes late, but I haven't claimed my 25p delay repay...
I returned on the 1708, again plenty of spare seats.

Got a further email from TPE around 4pm today offering me the chance to book one last £1 fare with a unique promotional code.

I've used mine (you can only use your code once) but if you're on the TPE mailing list it might be worth checking your inbox.
