Should this go ahead, will it mean the end of 185s on the WCML?

Can confirm. Currently onboard 1M95 - 397006 today. This unit is in the orientation of first class being at the South bound end of the train.

So three 397s in use today?

They still are on Liverpool Services

There was at least one Manchester 185 today - 0812 Edinburgh-Manchester Airport.
Terminated at Piccadilly "because of bad weather".
Full to bursting.
Luckily it was closely followed from Preston by a 6-car Blackpool-Hazel Grove 331.

How have these ended up the wrong way round? There isn't any scope for accidental reversal on the route that I can think of.

I thought that was the plan First Class at South end , 350s and 185s went either way.

13:07 from Manchester Airport to Glasgow showing as 4-car rather than 5-car today: has this one just gone over to 397 operation on Saturdays in the last few weeks?

Will the 07:00ish Manchester Airport to Glasgow Central be a 397 tomorrow as I'm on it from Manchester Piccadilly on a £1 promo? Return is 18:47 from Glasgow which I believe is the same diagram - it goes back to Manchester and back up to Scotland in the meantime.

It's booked to be one but no idea what's allocated yet.

Couple of questions
-Are all the other MIA-Scot services 350s?
-Any chance of an extra weekday diagram appearing in the next couple of weeks: 9am off Manc is a tad early but the 2pm departure is a wee bit late to get into Edb/Glasgow for what I need to do.

Thanks.

I believe there are 6 diagrams that aren't Nova yet, and 6 350s still with TPE. Unless they're holding 1 for maintenance, shouldn't be any 185s on the route.

Is it likely TPE will gradually introduce 397 diagrams in the lead up to April, or all diagrams in one go once time is up for the 350s?

How many diagrams are there for these services? I thought that there were now 4 397 diagrams, one starting in Glasgow and three in the Manchester area.

There are currently 3 diagrams booked for 397s. 1 starts out from Preston (empty to Lancaster) and 2 start from Longsight. First departures from Manchester Airport at 07:07, 08:07 and 09:07.

Eventually all 10 daily WCML diagrams will be 397s - 8 Manchester to Scotland and 2 Liverpool to Glasgow.

Why are none of those at Polmadie in public service? Surely there are enough trained crew by now?
