No orange on the front
NE Walkergate 19683

That looks a lot better (I still don't like it much, but removing the orange stops it looking like a Fisher Price toy at least). I wonder if that's a depot rebellion, or if HQ have realised how bad it looked?

On that model of bus, it even gives it a sort of "smiley face" front.

I read somewhere else (forget where) that the removal of the yellow is official.

Good. I now only dislike it rather than hating it. Like the Arriva Northern livery, it might even grow on me.

The next thing for them to do is realise that "school bus yellow" is not the colour to paint a premium posh coach service like the X5. A livery based on the blue would be better as per the current X5 livery. I just can't see Bedford depot willingly painting their pride and joy like a skoolkydd special.

First Oxfordshire vehicle in the new livery is due soon (a 20 plate E200MMC) so it will be interesting what variation of the livery it will be in!

I don’t hate the sides but I do hate the front design. It just looks so out of place they could have kept it white or with a minimum design.

Any idea where this is for? The OCBP suggested that there wouldn't be any vehicles in the new livery until the summer. If it's short I'd guess Oxford maybe to replace the Enviro 200s there, if longer maybe S4 to replace the Scanias?

It’s bound for Banbury depot, for the new 505 service (Brackley to Bicester). The contract states that the vehicle used cannot be older than 5 years old, hence the new bus. Just the one as well

Most areas now seem to have started repainting into the new livery. Manchester (apart from publicity one) and Merseyside & South Lancashire appear to be exceptions. Is there any news on when they will start and on what vehicles?

Kent appears to have repainted an ex Gold E400 (15181 YN64AKG) and E200 MMC (26243 YW19VNN) into the new livery, While Hampshire has had two of it's very smart 'The Kings City' E200 MMCs similarly repainted into the new "toy town" scheme (37406 YX65PXY & 37415 YX65PYL).

That's a shame. I always thought The King's City livery was extremely smart.

Absolutely horrid. Says "knackered old decker repurposed to school bus", not "premium".
It does allow a certain smugness value. The same way as it was said that one of the critics of the Eiffel tower used to eat there as it was the only place in Paris you couldn't see it from, if you're traveling in one of these you don't have to see the livery!

Prefer it. Never a fan of the Gold brand. Though it ridiculously elitist.

The X5 "premium" brand I think is nicer. School bus yellow is just an insane idea.

Ignoring people's views on the new livery the worst bit about the relaunch is the apparent removal of the few good local liveries that had managed to sneak past HQ, such as the King's City and the X5.
