Congratulations to everybody on the course in May. The rest of us will have to hope they need drivers at their respective depots at some point this year!

Here’s a thought, there’s a few of us on here who are starting the training course in May.
With this coronavirus, and the fact that most of us are leaving jobs where we get sick pay, once we leave and are starting the training, the virus will be in full flow and more than likely they will stop the training( hotels might not take guests)!
Will we get sick pay?
Most company’s don’t pay until you’ve done at least 6months!

Valid point mate, I dont know what this paul fellas problem is. Its quiet obvious what you're relating to I.e self isolation, lock down etc if and when things get to that stage. I'm hoping the training goes ahead still fingers crossed !

Afternoon gents, has anyone had any further contact from HR regarding their medical etc since being offered the job last week ? I've spoken to the lady from HR via txt on the mobile number she phoned me on last week but she just said no details as of yet and she will be in touch as soon as she can. There's only just over 6 weeks until the training is due to begin and I still need to hand my notice in at work, I was hoping my medical would be this week.

No, she did say ive got the job pending a medical and a DBS check but I just thought they would do that ? She said all I had to do was give her some dates that I could attend a medical. Did she ask you to apply for your DBS check then ?

I asked a few questions about the current climate and didn’t get any answers!
I don’t know what’s going on!
I’ve got no contract or medical booked!
Got to be careful as what to put as the chat does get monitored!

Use the government one for DBS check! It should only cost £23 and it’s done in a couple of days!

Yes I understand the chat is monitored, but I cant see any problem with discussing this here. We wont get a contract until we've passed a medical and a DBS check anyway mate. As far as I know I'm waiting on a date for my medical, I just wondered if anybody else in the same boat had spiked to HR and had any more info.

There is different types and levels of DBS checks you can apply for so is it definitely just a basic DBS we need to apply for ? Has anybody had anything in an email or letter ?
