It may even be the case that only certain arches need work, my understanding is that it will all come down to structural surveys. Much like the temporary station at Hillhouse, complete replacement of the viaduct is just one of a multitude of options.What will replace it will be anyones guess, but I don't think it'll be a like for like replacement. Especially when there's numourous retail units that are located in the arches themselves who'll need to relocate once the go ahead is given to demolish to the exisiting struture.
If the viaduct is replaced, I can't see a 19th century style stone and brick structure being the most cost-effective replacement structure!
