Ah wasn’t sure, looks similar. Tbh it’s personal opinion if you like the change or not. The average punter won’t care. When you see a hybrid on a 30 it’s certainly much clearer now anyway! Anything which is brighter and larger than what those mobitec’s had before is an improvement.
Sorry. I was comparing them to Hanovers! Even though I like hanovers better, these dests do look better than the old 401 - 425, hybrid and etc dests.

The buses which have announcements (e.g. the Zoo ones for route 26), do they have announcements programmed for every route? I've seen (from the Lothian Vehicle website) that a couple of those were on routes 5, 19 and 21 today, will the announcements have been working then? What about if they were put on e.g. the 124 or X18? Thanks!

Whilst I can't be sure of every route being programmed I am sure they probably all are.

I have been on routes such as the 44 which use a mix of buses from Longstone and Central but the announcements have worked when it is on the newer buses from both depots. I have also been on route 24 using one of the buses from (1051-1062) and the announcements worked.

Last summer some of the route 26 buses went to operate on the ECB route X5 during the the Scottish Open golf and the announcements worked as far as I remember so I believe they will work across the whole network.

Every route is programmed in. Even, as with the screens, are other companies routes.

They do from memory, when the X27/X28 got the ex-Skylink Buses they had announcements programmed in them which was surreal at the time for me.

I remember being on a 63 years ago I think it was the older announcement system and the stop names went as far as Newbridge and all the stops in Kirkliston and Queensferry didn’t have the voice programmed yet, to be fair this was around 2014-2015 when the route was rarely new to Lothian.

It’s amazing knowing it’s set for every route in the Lothian network even if they don’t have vechicles set for paticar routes, makes me think they probably have stop announcements for more underrated routes like (X15,38,61,69)

When I meant X15 and 38 were underrated it was only because I have yet to see both routes have a bus with stop announcements.

Maybe when the X15 returns to Portobello perhaps, whenever the service changes will take place

I've noticed a few times that the expected time display on the 16 sometimes loops round at the terminus so you get times for Oxgangs - Colinton (the terminus) - Oxgangs - Morningside etc. Is that something in the setup for a particular bus or would it be the whole system which is malfunctioning at that moment? As I can't be on two buses at once it's difficult to check.

I have seen that happening on the 300 so it may be a "feature" of the system. It also displays flight information on journeys from the airport.

It’s unpredictable when things will return to normal but just got to remain optimistic, hopefully once these 3 weeks are done and the situation is reviewed things will be calmer and then hopefully the country can return to normality

But people come first in this situation
Stay safe and stay happy

slightly off topic, but it's going to be atleast 2 months, three weeks will just get revised.

Not a snowball's chance in hell of things returning to normal after three weeks. I think we'll be in lockdown for six to eight weeks. It'll be at least the end of June before we will be able to return to anything near normality.

Most of the bigger operators seem to be looking at around 3-6 months, hence vehicles being 'SORN'd' and put in to storage.

I think June is not going to happen to be honest. Gov have said those who are self employed will get first paymet in June. Why would they set up a system if they thought things would be back to "normal" in June. This is going to be much longer than that I fear.
