The ex LNER sets transferring over I though were EC51 EC52 EC53 EC57 EC58 EC59 EC61 EC62 EC63 and I have since seen them referred to as NL51 etc so I assumed that was EC51. But I've seen set NL56 mentioned a few times. Does that mean I've got the sets above wrong?

Edit: I just checked EC56 is the BR Blue set so that can't be NL56. Any help appreciated.

Only "NL" reference is to NL65 which is(/was) an EMT set that was leased to VTEC/LNER. The derogations published on the Government refer to the sets you refer to (EC51-3, 57-9, 61-3) so those'll be the sets transferring.

My understanding is that the EC sets that are transferring to EMR will replace the ECxx prefix with NLxx, but keeping the original 2 digit identfier after the letters.

That's what I thought too, but I've seen NL56 multiple times.

The nine ECxx sets that you mention have transferred and have been renumbered in order NL51-59.

All the sets have been cut down to 8-car by removing coach G from the LNER sets. The removed trailers from NL51-56 have been stored at Ely, those from NL57-59 went to Rotherham for scrap on 30 March.

I cant remember which services but it is 2 in each direction on weekdays at peak times (to London in the mornings and from in the evening).

And it would seem that if only 2 HSTs are required the probability of 2 ex LNER sets becoming ready is reasonably high so we could see a very soon end to the EMR sets, overnight as it were. Unless EMR wish to wait for the end of the Covid timetable to start these, but I can't see any reason for that. Before lock down they were already promoting the soon to be introduced LNER 'red trains' in any case.

Some 222s will be stopped for maintenance, but equally the HSTs are available and can effectively be run into the ground - there's little point in not using them until they run out of miles. I'd also suggest that PRM compliance is of little importance right now as the handful of people still using the trains are more likely to be able bodied than not

That December date depends on the 360s becoming available and the Corby wiring being completed on time...
They're being used to maintain crew knowledge, just in case they're needed when the full timetable eventually restarts

3 HSTs are required. One of the diagrams is split to keep the set that is normally at cricklewood overnight in the loop. At least one set looks almost ready so it might be likely there will be a steady introduction as some of the set have still not been through Neville hill?

Monday to Friday. Last Saturday two were in use on a early morning/late evening trip to market harborough and back and non as far as I was aware in use on Sunday.

Two sets I think have gone. NL06 (somewhere near Sheffield) & NL07 (on the way to or at Newport?)
