LNER Class 91/Mk4 service status/withdrawals/2021 refurbishment

If anyone noticed there is a pattern in lner withdrawing 225 stock. They seem to be withdrawing backwards from BN30 downwards. So so far BN30-BN18 are gone now regardless of pis screens so this eventually gives lner a uniform fleet BN01-BN10 which will be the ones left. I assume!
Not quite BN30-BN18 wholesale; BN26 is back in service, and BN16 has also been withdrawn.

They are withdrawing the more recently refurbished sets first as some of the vehicles in each set are transferring to Grand Central and TFW.
Perhaps,maybe.

sorry if its been mentioned but what mk4s have beenn scrapped? is it full sets, random carriages or the spare ones from the tfw/gc sets?

Post #810 in this thread a few weeks ago had a go at summarising what had happened by then. I doubt much has happened since...

cheers. i assume all the sets still in service will just be heading for scrap?
I still don’t think it’s settled. There were going to be a number of sets being kept on for ECML duties (for at least a couple of years), but that was a month ago...

10 sets are remaining in service til at least December 2023 as confirmed on Google news site and lner wiki mentions 10 sets to be kept so they can maintain the 2021 timetable forecast.
10 sets are remaining and no doubts or scrappings about it.
Good news.

91116 has now joined 91104, 91129, 91113 and 91112 at Doncaster RMT.
BN14 has been moved to Worksop as well.

I make that half of the Mark 4 sets now stored or off-leased: BN11/14/16/18-25/27-30.

66713 currently hauling 91131 to Worksop (via Doncaster) up the ECML just past Sandy, going down the old joint via Maltby and Dinnington. Rare pictures for anyone doing their daily exercise in that area. Although not sure if loco gets dropped off at Donny, 9 Mk IV plus DVT..

I haven't got any miles on the withdrawn 91s so far, what are the chances of them entering service elsewhere in the UK?

I‘m not a betting man, but I would put it at very low. The only route I could see the 91s operating would be the Great Western. But even if there was appetite for an open access operator, it would be all but extinguished now.

Is it known definitively that LNER have finished with the 91's at Doncaster RMT other than 104 (112-113-116-129-131) and the sets which have moved to Worksop in the last 2-3 weeks?

Just a slight oddity I've noticed is that, compared to previous sets and locos which have gone to Worksop / other operators, these locos and DVT's still retain LNER branding..

As an aside, can anyone confirm whether 91102 remains in service with LNER? Believe it was transferred to Doncaster around a month ago, but not sure if this was just for an exam / maintenance, or has joined those which have been withdrawn?

91 102 worked up to Edinburgh yesterday so yep still with LNER

Also looks like that set (BN02) DVT 82202 from Bounds Green went direct to Worksop from Retford, not via Doncaster. No 91, train hauled by 66 737

No 91 with the set, so unsurprising that it went direct to Worksop rather than via Doncaster. A quick check on Flickr showed that 82202 was the DVT on the back, so my hunch is that BN02 was the set.

I feel there’d be a certain sense of irony if the first Class 91 scrapping happens before the first Class 43 (excluding those scrapped from accident damage).

The poor thing is in a right state. She's need scrapping to be put out of her misery at this stage.
