Train Database 2020
Publicly released now!

After 5 months in development, I've finally released the train database which features locomotives, DMU's and EMU's. This database includes number lists, the relevant TOC / FOC, liveries, notes and nameplates. This is still heavily unfinished and is always being updated. Some stock aren't as up to date as others but these are being worked on. I'll probably focus on modern stock as that's the stock that I can get more information on regarding status, liveries, etc. I hope enjoy using it and I hope it's somewhat useful!

When the database gets updated, I'll post the update log in this thread. I'm open for constructive feedback, good or bad :)

This is a community contributed project. I.e. if someone posts to this thread that X train has been scrapped and provides proof, I'll mark it down as out of service on the database as I'm obviously not going to be able to know what the status of every single train in the country is! The same can apply with the train operator, livery, nameplates, etc.

Stock Update Submission

If info of a particular loco / unit is incorrect on the database, you can submit an update request via the following Google Form:

I've just had a quick look and it looks really good - well done! A very comprehensive list. I look forward to see how it will be developed! :D

Thank you Peter! Obviously this wouldn'tve been able to be completed by myself, so I've listed the credits at the side too :)

Ah - nice to know it's been a community effort. Seeing as ABRail has gone down, I can see more and more people using this. Is there any way of downloading it to allow people to access it when offline?

Thanks,

-Peter

Not yet. I might allow downloads at a later date once I've confirmed everything is working as it should - apologies

Of note, 37240 has recently returned to the mainline in Transrail livery, I believe to work with the Colas fleet.

Thank you! I've just checked and it appeared to have worked 0Z39 with Colas 37175 trailing, so I'll update that now. These are just quick updates whilst I finish updating all of the other locos and units.

Looks great so far - if you need to pull things like vehicle numbers from the old sites that have since gone down, they are still available via archive.org

Question: what do the light blue stripes mean (as used on all class 45, most class 40, some class 37)? For DMUs it appears to coincide with 'preserved' but not on locos.

Apologies for the confusion, I forgot to add preservation onto the key. The blue strip generally means it's preserved at a heritage railway or site. I've updated it and it'll be visible in the next update :)

Update 2

- Updated Class 142 list. There's lines around some of the boxes on the 142 list, sorry about that. The only reason I can think of it doing that is because I've copied it over from the private list which I use to edit. I'll try my best to fix it
- Added preservation to the key of the blue strip, my bad! Thank you for letting me know @pdeaves

If I've missed out anything on the 142's, please do let me know and I'll correct it ASAP

Update 3

- Updated Class 313 list
- Updated Class 314 list
- Updated 37425

Nothing's actually changed to the list but I've confirmed that the info currently on there is correct from what I am aware of. I aim to update each list every now and then to keep it all up to date

Also just noticed 315816 on the list marked as 'in service'. This was sent off to CF Booths on the 16/4/20 so presumably its either been scrapped or in the process of scrapping.
Hope this helps

Just had quick look at the sheet and its looking good.

Perhaps it deserves its own forum? Pin the link to the sheet at the top of the forum like the frequently requested diagrams and then all the updates can appear in the same forum. People could then always access it easily without it being buried in the main forum.

It would be nice if the individual vehicle numbers were available as well.

Finally an update:

150001 & 002 are now with Northern but still in GWR green and are formed with only 2 driving cars - the centre cars are Motor Seconds without driving cabs, unique in the class 150 fleet.

Thank you for the kind words! A pinned thread would be great. Individual vehicle numbers are unfortunately something I don't have access to info on. Regarding the 150/0's, I'll update them now - thanks for the info :)

I suppose it depends on what logic you use - is it the number on the system you use, or the number the vehicle carries?
If the former, then 41001 should be 43000, 43006 should be 43206 and 43112 is 43312.

43052/066 are stored
43238/316/318/320 are in service with EMR
43307/308/314/317 are awaiting return to service with EMR.

Finally, is there any reason why all the Class 50s (except 50014!) are shown but not all the 47s, 37s etc etc?

I'm not sure 37003 should be down as in service. It's under going repairs at Leicester I believe.
If you want specifics, 37418 for example is preserved but on hire to Colas.

I tend to use the number what is known most, so I went with 37558 at first but changed to 37424 when I realised it was the number on the front of the loco. Regarding the 43's, I'll update them now. As always I appreciate the info :)

I thought I put all Class 50's down.. oops :p. I put all 50's down and not other locos as I had sufficient info on all of the locos but I didn't want to keep it inconsistent, as I could get some info on some 47's but not all.

The 37's were the first locos on the list to be done so it hasn't fully been updated for a while, I'll get round to that at some point. I'll bare in mind the info on 003 and 418 for when I do update them :)

Nice job!

I look forward to the downloadable version, then I'll be able to delete the HST power cars from the locomotives page.

Also 37 419 is in InterCity Mainline Livery to be specific.

Are locomotives higher than class 50 missing or can I just not see them.

Thanks, I've updated it now. The intercity liveries always confused me lol. Locos higher than the 50 haven't been added yet, I plan on updating most of the stock first and then I'll add more trains to the list :)
