8 is a clear winner to me - but I vote 4 because of its simplicity!

Number 8 is a great rain photo. Very well taken and framed, and produces a nice finished shot. I also liked #5 and #3. The rest appeared that the rain was a coincedence and not used to good effect (which is hard to achieve, and why I didn't enter).

For me it was a fight between 8 and 6. I felt that these were the only ones that that rain really contributed to the photo and wasn't just incidental. Several of the others were really good photos, but I didn't feel that they showcased the theme enough. I went with 6 because I like "small train" pictures. If I ever win (fat chance, especially since I've not been entering) I think I'd pick that for my theme.

I can see the No. 8 is a most popular this week, I like this one as well and No. 9. But 8 filling the theme so much better then 9. 9 is nice shot but doesnt show the rain that good as 8 does.

No 8 was good too, but I voted 5 as the rain seems to help show the speed and power of the train.

Quite a few need special mentions for dedicated photographers!

Well done to Matt Taylor - definite kudos for being out in that weather to get such a shot!

Also, thanks to whoever it was who voted for mine - for a shot taken on the fly on a mobile phone while getting a little soggy(!), I didn't think it was a bad effort :)

I agree with sellis there; whilst I voted 10, I agree that 8 took some dedication.

Commiserations to the lad in Edinburgh - the only non-scorer this week.

I voted for 8, and congratulations to Matt. But I was struck at the time with the similarity between that and last week's (excellent) shot at Reading in the snow. Matt obviously knows how to get in touch with weather-related misery :)

On a train...somewhere!
Well done Matt. Thanks to those who voted for my picture. I never really expected to win as the shot was taken without looking to get the rear power car number! Nevertheless I was pleased with the result but No8 was definately a worthy winner :D
