I take it the lost excludes items for JH's Margate storage centre, eg 55016?

Do LSL still operate 08737 and 08780? Also spotted a typo with 47593s other number, should be 47790 not 47791.

A lot more carriages in the fleet than those listed of the Mk1 and Mk2 varieties including a mix of stored and operational. Apologies, I can't help with numbers but there used to be published lists floating about.

Also 47841 stored at Margate museum and an ex Freightliner 47/8 plus possibly one of the ex DRS ones still at Eastleigh were suggested as joining the fleet a while ago. Not sure on the current status of either or whether that happened though as this year has played havoc with my memory on a few things.

I believe 41059/108/162/169/176/182 are also at Eastleigh - arrived on 12 March.

Looking at the list of HST stock at Eastleigh, I'd surmise a first class dining rake is being assembled. Six TFs, two TRFBs, and (as a pure guess) that the two 46xxx trailer composites may be there to donate their first class seating to convert 44078 from a TGS to a TGF.

I believe it should be noted that the Mk3 stock is "ex Greater Anglia" (red and white) and not "ex Anglia" (green) - I'm sure you mean red and white but maybe worth an edit for the avoidance of confusion?

Thanks for putting the list together! They are getting quite the fleet :)

I think 20096 might be freshly repainted in Green. It does a bit of shunting on the depot at Crewe from time to time, but is too far away to be 100% sure of the number.

Both 20s have reported over on wnxx as now being in Green.

Thanks to putting together a list of what they have

They've moved quickly with both of those two then! Thanks all, I'll update the list accordingly. I'm aware of the Margate locos but have decided to keep this one as the mainline fleet for now.

Thanks for that, tiredness finally got the better of me when compiling this list this morning so I'll add those in now.

As for the Eastleigh HST rakes, It certainly would appear to be a full dining style rake. I do wonder about the 408XXs though, as a lot of them were in a pretty rough state when they left Great Western. There is also a few 407XXs which haven't made it into the scrap line and have instead found themselves to be stored undercover so I'm wondering if there will ultimately be a swap in the near future.

Although not an LSL loco for use 60081 is still, I believe, at Toton awaiting treatment before its intended move to the Margate museum

It's an amazing collection of motive power. A bit heavy on ETH 47s, and no Peaks or smaller Sulzers. Lets hope we see plenty of the collection out on the main line.

I could be completely wrong in thinking this but is 45118 destined for LSL once its been repaired?

Yes. I have read that too. Difficult to work out the futures of these but I was under the impression 37688 40013 45118 47712 are loans whereas 37190 I believe was a purchase. Also 47811 and 47816 bought from Freightliner for parts then breaking, whereas 47841 from the same source has been vinyled and stored at Margate alongside 55016. Perhaps 47841 has a future or maybe a parts bin too.

More unsure is the movement of HST vehicles. As "43096" suggests, it looks as though a premium rake of HST trailers is being put together at Eastleigh and maybe some of the fleet are parts donors. LSLs seem to have "processed" some Mk3s at their HQ in Crewe before despatching some to Sms at Newport. The HST trailers which were collected from Tyne Yard by 37521+37667 for example - have they been moved on since ?

Lots going on

If you mean the five vehicles from EC64 collected from Tyne Yard, they went to Crewe and subsequently to Sims, Newport on 19 March.

I've noted the locos which are mainline operable and on loan in the list - I probably wont do the Margate fleet for now as the ownership between the 1:1 Collection / LSL / Saphos Trains all seems very fluid for now, indeed the 1:1 Website lists locos in use at Crewe but doesn't list some of the locos going to Margate. I've also not included 45118 yet for two reasons, the first being it isn't currently in the mainline operable fleet and the second - who owns it?

Last week 87 002 was doing light engine movements between Crewe and Preston. I saw it on 8th June just north of Wigan NW and I think it worked 9th and 10th too. Couple of round trips each day. Keeping drivers up to speed?

LSL has 45118 (which is missing from the list at the top). It is being worked on and was on the load bank at Barrow Hill a couple of weeks ago.

Why have they only got one HST powercar? Are they planning to buy another?

Yes "43096" it was they. Did they have anything done on them / from them in the short time they were at Crewe, or maybe just a transit stop off.

They would have just removed the parts they require from them before delivering them for Scrap. I'm not sure what parts, considering the amount of of Ex GW vehicles they have taken on since.

Minor amendment to the list, as Mk1 BCK 21096 is in Margate.

Some talk elsewhere that this is destined for Margate. It always seemed to be the plan in the past that the LSL HST would be powered by MTUs. Using VP185s would have some advantages, but would make the powercars very much loaners once the EMR fleet is retired.

Plan according to who? There were some mighty big assumptions by enthusiasts, but there was never any statement from LSL as to which configuration of vehicles they were taking.

Marginally off-topic, LSL steam loco 34046 "Braunton" was fired up on the depot at Crewe today. It went for a spin via Gresty and Basford Hall to turn it on the triangle, accompanied by a BSK support coach. Maybe they are working up to a main line test run some time in the next few days?

Trains resuming from Mid July so all suitable preparation will be underway by now.

Makes sense, thanks
