I see from the notes on the railway centre picture of the day that these haven't gone down well with the locals of the Enfield/Cheshunt lines. The longitudinal seating is not liked and I don't blame them.

If GWML commuters have to put up with longitudinal seats then so can the LO commuters, especially when the fares are cheaper than TfL Rail!

Surely that's because they aren't TfL Rail fares, they're GWR fares. TfL/LO would otherwise use the same TfL fare structure.

Idk, I thought fares from Langley and Taplow etc were set by TfL Rail now, since they provide the vast majority of services. Anyway TfL Rail fares outside zones 1-6 are quite expensive, especially with the new draconian peak restrictions when using contactless.

But when you're only paying £2 for a much shorter journey, I don't see how the LO passengers can complain.

123/129 available but petty sure haven't worked passenger (limited timetable means not really needed)
119/120 passenger debut this morning (but already been swapped out so no desperate leaps anyone)

123/129 have been in passenger service several times already. Were brought to Chingford on the 27th of March, but ended up back at Ilford to fix a small problem.

They're trying to get some sort of 710 training back up and running for the WA lines.

Hi - does this mean the introduction of the new units has started again?

I had my first solo West Anglia 710 yesterday evening - 710121. Has this happened prior to this on the West Anglia?

A 5 car unit was moved to Old Dalby on Monday that didn't have a number or overground roundel on it (that I could see). Got a photo of it on its approach into Melton Mowbray

And another 5 car unit delivered to Old Dalby just now. This had no markings either (number or roundel). The unit number was shown on pieces of paper on the windows but forgot to make a note of it. Top and tailed by 37800 and 57312

First 710 in passenger service on the NLL today, although it wasn't planned! There was a faulty train in the bay at Gospel Oak and another stuck at the signal outside so it was sent to Hampstead Heath where it detrained and ran empty to Willesden.

What plans are there for the 5 car units? Will they run alongside the 378’s on the NLL clapham/richmond - Stratford route?

The key point is that they wanted extra units for planned service increases on the ELL/SLL, and these need front escape doors for the Thames Tunnel section. It was easier to order a few 5 car 710s without end doors and do an internal shuffle.

Just wanted to check for any recent updates - how many 710 diagrams are now on the West Anglia STP Monday-Friday schedule at the moment? And any news or developments regarding driver training?

No idea on exact numbers but at least three or four pairs seem to be out - maybe more. I was on a pair heading to Chingford - with another pair entering Liverpool Street from Chestnut. And another pair also sitting in the station.

A posting on 'ukmodernemu' suggests there were four pairs of 710s out off-peak yesterday with another pair stabled at Chingford.
