Is there a diagrammatical map (similar to a Tube map) which shows every station on the UK National Rail network?

If not, would there be any interest in me creating one?

Thanks, that's amazing!

I was thinking more basic than that - only 45 degree angles, no curves showing track alignment (eg for Eastbourne), not showing where individual company's routes end (eg Bedford) and maybe not even showing individual company colour-coding at all.

Yes, it would be a mammoth task!

Go for it, i'd look forward to see it. It would be a huge task though, some years ago i did similar for the west midlands rail network and that was big enough on it's own.

Gone are the days of the large fold out map that came with a printed timetable book. That always took up a large piece of wall at home.

Eastbourne is hard not to show that way, given Hampden Park being served by both London/Brighton direction trains and Hastings direction trains.

But Battersby, Bere Alston, Bourne End, Carmarthen, Coombe Junction Halt (complete with looping under the mainline to reach Liskeard), etc don't need to show that the service reverses there.

I meant more that the map doesn't need to show that you can't go straight from Polegate to Pevensey and avoid Eastbourne altogether. Because of the way Hampden Park operates, you will always need to show it as a separate "branch".

I remember back in the GNER era, all the route timetable guides used to have them on the back.

It was great for a kid who spent long train journeys drawing new lines onto maps......

THen they went and changed it to a map that emphasised GNER routes and didn't properly display the rest, and ruined everything.

You're missing Baildon!

Also, I'd propose that the interchange opportunity between Giggleswick/Settle be highlighted, but I don't know if the local easement is still valid.
Thanks - will add Baildon.

For Giggleswick/Settle, do you mean that they're close enough to walk between?

For some reason I love rail maps, I'm not sure if it's looking at all the stations or the amount of services. Although now I think it's so I can imagine going somewhere..

National Rail Enquiries shows Falls of Cruachan as being accessed via stairs, and states that Castle Cary has step free access to the Taunton bound platform only, but frankly I'm not always 100% convinced of the accuracy of National Rail Enquiries, so if you have local info that differs I can certainly change it :)

I'm pointing out that Falls of Cruachan isn't even on the map

Yes, the map only shows accessible or partially accessible stations, as it's an accessibility map.

But your map shows other stations that are not accessible at all such as Crianlarich and Carstairs.
