Same, apparently there were over 4000 applications, but I suppose it depends how many applications got to the next stage. Tbh from what I've heard, if you've been successful, you might not hear back for a while. So fingers crossed.
No news is good news, there were approx 6100 applicants. Good luck guys

So we could have passed the SJT but then they look at our application at our answers etc and go from there?
It’s exactly that! You guys may have passed the SJT, but then failed to meet the standard on the application. This is only the first SJT and it is made up as part of your application. Keep trying though it took me 3attempts.

Guys don’t expect to hear back in the next few days

Took 3 weeks for me to hear back regarding the SJT then a further 3months before I got invited to stage one, it’s a long slog so try not to be constantly thinking about it as it will drive you crazy!

just get on with your life and be patient
I took SHL online assessment on 7th of July 2020 after that no update. Is it normal?

For anyone that needs any help or tips etc, I am at the medical stage having applied last year so it's all quite fresh in my memory.

Feel free to drop me a PM and I'll be happy to help.
All the best for your medical. Just want to ask after taking SHL online assessment what is the wait time and if you go through what will be the next stage? Thanks

Yes could be 2022 before people from this recruitment start, due to coronavirus they have a huge backlog of trainees from so many courses at different stages. 2022 I think for this intake.

Yeah I applied for New St and still haven't heard back yet. I'm guessing the longer it takes you to hear back, the further down the shortlist you get. Who knows though lol

Entirely, even in normal times...

Honestly folks, there seem to be a lot of people new to this game here, but you're in for the long haul. Even in normal times that's the case. I imagine Jon1930 above is correct, this recruitment could end up being for a 2022 intake with everything's that's going on, for those who make it through.

Chill out and go with the flow.

I'm all new to this too, excited but at the same time appreciate it is a really long process. It's the dream so really wan't to take my time with it anyway. I can wait aha

I just keep thinking that i'f I'm in demand then they will contact me.

Thank you

Have just received an email from West Mids just giving an update that they're still working through applications. Over 6000 of them! Expecting to take until the end of September, understandably. I hope that answers @sahibsarkar's question :)

Just had an email back from WMT. Said due to the high volume of applications received, it could be the end of September before I hear anything back.

This is good news for all those who are waiting. Of the 6,000, I believe some are already ‘screened out’ using the online SJT; but yes a good idea even if you haven’t heard in September to just relax. They will always be in touch when the time is right and you’ll hear if it’s ‘yes’ or ‘no’.

The waiting game starts...

Interesting.....

I am not sure there is an answer. But....does anybody have a rough idea as to how many drop out simply because they didn't realise how long the process would be? For example.....I'm desperate to leave my current place of work, so applied assuming the timeframe would be the normal 4-6 weeks. Then I look on here, and see it takes around a year to be offered a position in normal times, let alone the bat***** crazy times we are in now.

And....I'd assume there was a significant percentage of applicants who would drop out due to not being bothered to wait.

Any ideas?

*I am aware Covid 19 was not caused by a human consuming bat faeces....
