Belle Vue. Until recently it had just a two-hourly service which made its use entirely impractical. Last December Northern increased stops to hourly, but it's service in the Covid timetable is two hourly again. I've rarely even used a train which actually stopped there, although I've passed through countless times.

In my last house I think it was a toss-up between Alsager, Rudyard and Leekbrook Junction.

Sandy would be the closest one to my Cambridgeshire home. It’s one of those where if I’m on a train to Sandy then it will be calling at St. Neots which is far more useful for getting home so I have no need to use Sandy. In the other direction, I have used Huntingdon as I know people who work there that I might be meeting or half inching a lift from.
In London it’ll be Morden South. Less than a mile away but South Merton even closer so I just always use that!

Hamworthy, just under 8 miles away. I've used most stations in the Bournemouth area (although Parkstone only once), and it just edges out New Milton at 9.25 miles

Crossflats for me. Under 2 miles away as the crow flies. Around a mile further away is Baildon, and not only have I not used the station I've never passed through it.

Mine would be either Fenny Stratford or Cheddington. I've never visited Cheddington but have driven though Fenny Stratford to get to IKEA, including over the bridge by the station.

Newstead (Robin Hood Line). Only 2 miles from home but Hucknall is easier to reach by car, bus and walking and has a more regular service. Therefore I have never used Newstead. Also, although I don’t think it’s quite as bad as it once was, Newstead is not a place where I would like to leave my car parked.

Mine is Chester-le-Street. Must have been through it several thousand times on a train but have never boarded or alighted from a train there.
Not counting the one time I alighted from a rail replacement bus there.

Upton, i live about 2 miles from there[my nearest station is Moreton] but i've never used Upton station, i have passed through it on the train many times though.
On a line with a better frequency than Borderlines, never got on or off at St Michaels, either passed through many a time

Purley Oaks or possibly South Croydon. Definitely never boarded or alighted at the former, not 100% sure on the latter.

The second closest to my house - Chippenham, although I have passed through it and been on the platform, just never caught a train or alighted from one there.
Bedwyn and Pewsey are nearly as closed and I haven't passed through there, although I have been on the platforms.

The nearest that I've not set foot in would be Stroud.

Despite being a heavy user of Hornsey, Harringay, Finsbury Park, Harringay Green Lanes and Seven Sisters - all comparable or further away - I've never used South Tottenham.

For me, that would be Newcourt (four and a half miles away, on the other side of town) and Newton St Cyres (five and a half miles away, in a nearby village). I've only ever used St James's Park (just two miles away) once, though I generally walk past it several times a week.

Aberdare - about 7 or 8 miles from where I live.

In my railroving days before I moved to Merthyr Tydfil I'd done all the Valley Lines except Abercynon to Aberdare. Moved here 22 years ago and I still haven't been that way.

Seeing as my local station is on the C2C route (Benfleet), it’s surprising how few stations on the route I’ve actually used. With where I live in relation to the station, it’s normally easier and quicker to drive.
I believe the closest station that I’ve never used at all (other than passing through) is Stanford-Le-Hope, but I can’t imagine ever getting a train to or from Pitsea, even though I’m sure that I have at some point

Next would be Hemel Hempstead - 25 miles ( i have been through it many times but never lighted or alighted there)

You should, the pub The Fishery just over the road is really very good. I miss the place.

What caused you to get off a train in Cheddington?!?

When I first lived in Newcastle, the nearest was Blaydon (2.5 miles). Second time around it was Manors (7.7 miles). From Hemel it was Cheddington (14 miles).

Now? The nearest station I have never even been through is Holyhead (58 miles). For ones I've passed through but not got off, take your pick from any on the Furness peninsula other than Barrow (50 miles or so) or the Wirral (75 miles or so).

Living just South of Reading we are surrounded by stations on multiple routes (I make it 11 within about ten miles from home) and this got me thinking about how many of them I have actually used. Of these, I think there's only three not used- Bramley, Theale and Winnersh Triangle

Sileby, at 4.5 miles from where I live, is a station I have never used, despite having used both Barrow-Upon-Soar and Syston many times.

Probably Hinckley. I live in the Hinckley and Bosworth council area but I’m quite a long way from Hinckley. I usually use either Loughborough or Leicester (and on one occasion Burton as the bus to Burton goes through my village and there was a direct service from Burton to where I was going, if I went via Leicester I would have had to change)

Burnley Central (8.7 miles), closely followed by Burnley Barracks and Rose Grove
