Is it possible to use contactless on East Midlands railway from st pancras to Luton airport parkway? Or is it only Thameslink?

Yes, contactless is valid on EMR as well as Thameslink to Luton Airport Parkway. See the London Rail & Tube map, which shows the EMR service as being within the contactless area of validity. There are reports that the barriers at St Pancras (high level) don't have the correct setup to automatically allow you through though, I'm not sure whether they've sorted this since contactless was introduced to Luton Airport Parkway.

I'm pretty sure it's sorted now. They even have OSIs set up between the EMR and Thameslink gatelines.

Not properly sorted. You have to get a staff member to open the barriers and then tap on the little oyster reader after the barriers. The staff do know what they're doing so was easy enough.
